INSTRUCTIONS FOR PREPARING THE LTA SWPPP:
; This LTA SWPPP is only for projects with land disturbances of less than one acre or no soil
disturbance. For projects with land disturbances of an acre or greater refer to the SDCCD’s
; The SWPPP preparer shall complete all yellow highlighted sections with project specific details.
It is recommended that yellow highlighting be removed once the document is finalized and
submitted for signature.
; Additonal instructions for completing the SWPPP are located throughout the document in blue
text. All blue text should be deleted from the document once finalized and submitted for
; The Title Page shall have the following information:
o Project name;
o Contractor ID number and name;
o Date LTA SWPPP was prepared;
o Signed and dated by David Backensto, Property Agent;
o Fill in project name and location in the page header.
; The Project Information and Signature Page shall have the following information:
o Project start date;
o Contractor name, address, and phone number;
o A detailed description of the work to be conducted, including size of project, demo
work, construction, and any significant details about the project;
o Project work location;
o Name, signature, telephone number, fax number, and email address of the Qualified
SWPPP Iimplementor (QSI) chosen for the project.
o Name, signature, telephone number, fax number, and email address of the person
who prepared the LTA SWPPP.
; The QSI shall have formal storm water management training as described under Training in the
; Attach a Location Map and Project Site Map for the project, with the required elements listed on
page 2 of the template, to the LTA SWPPP.
; Complete Tables A-1 thru A-6 with the BMPs that will be used for the project site. Each of the
BMPs with the dark hashed shading are required BMPs and shall be used for the project site. If
these BMPs are not applicable due to site conditions, uncheck the block and explain why they
were not selected. At least one of the BMPs with the vertical striped shading shall be used on
site, at the descretion of the contractor based on site conditions and constraints. If the SWPPP
preparer feels the need to designate one of these BMPs due to site conditions, the use of the
BMP should be specified and the footnotes edited as appropriate. If these BMPs are not
applicable, this should be indicated and the table edited as appropriate.
All of the columns in a table associated with a BMP being used on site shall be completed for
; Add additional site specific BMPs to be used for the project in the space provided at the end of
each of the BMP sections in the template. This space may also be used to further discuss
BMPs identified in the tables and their use for the project.

sewage release that enters a storm drain or receiving water.
; Attach the California Stormwater Quality Association (CASQA) Stormwater BMP
Handbook Portal: Construction BMP fact sheets that correspond to the BMPs selected for
the site. Avoid including all the BMPs as this LTA SWPPP should be tailored to the specific
requirements of the project site. The CASQA BMP Factsheets are used based on the limited
pre-permission copyright granted to the SDCCD SWPPP signatory for use in SWPPPs
prepared for SDCCD facilities management projects. All other uses are prohibited and may be
a violation of Federal Copyright Law.
