    The Alaska Farm Bureau is pleased to announce a new membership benefit program beginning with the 2010 year. There is not cost to members for the program. The 2010 membership year begins on November 1, 2009. General members (those actively engaged in farming, ranching or processing agricultural products) and Associate members (those not engaged, but wanting to support agriculture) are eligible for the program. In addition, you may use the card as an employee benefit full time, part time and seasonal employees. The program offers discounts on brand and generic medications. It is open formulary, so all medications are eligible for discounts-both brand name and generic medications are discounted.

    The program offers a discount as high as 75% to members, both General and Associate members. The average discount is around 30%. The program benefits those without insurance or those with insurance that does not cover prescriptions or a specific drug.

    There are no enrollment forms, no restrictions, no age, no income requirements, no waiting periods, no eligibility required, no exclusions, it covers pre-existing conditions, no claim forms to file, no annual or lifetime limits, and includes discounts on brand and generic medications.

    There are more than 50,000 national and regional pharmacies. There are 50 participating pharmacies in Alaska: Fred Meyer stores: Eagle River, Palmer,

    Soldotna, Wasilla, Juneau, Fairbanks at Old Steese Hwy and Airport Rd, Anchorage at Abbott Road, Debarr Road, E. Northern Lights Blvd and W. Dimond Blvd. Safeway stores: Kenai, Soldotna, North Pole, Kodiak, Ketchikan, Seward, Juneau, and Fairbanks on College Road and Airport Way. Wal-Mart

    not involved in or in any way responsible for your dealings with this program. The program is administered by United Networks of American.

Once the disclaimer form is received, your discount card will be mailed to you if your 2010 membership dues have been paid. The membership application is also on the website. Only one card is needed per family.
