For a long time, English teaching is accustomed to the teaching way, which only emphasizes on the grammar and language norm. This, to some degree, prevents the teaching and the learning from going step further. This paper expounds the connotation of culture background knowledge and language, points out the necessity of teaching the cultural background knowledge in English teaching and raises some important teaching methods of cultural background knowledge in the English Classroom.
