Two Ways Of Losing Weight
The purpose of this essay is contrast two different ways of losing weight. One
obesity medication and skipping meals, which is dangerous. The way is taking anti–
other way is taking regular exercises and eating healthily, which is healthy. The essay will emphase on the contration of their effects on health, their effects on people’s lives
and the term of their efficacy.
The first difference of the two ways is the effects they may cause. In recent decades, the “thin is in”mentality has become prevalent in mainstream society. Many people skip meals or use anti–obesity drugs in attempts to lose weight, which may
cause side effects on people’s health. Many types of diet pills are known to trigger
serious reactions, such as stomach pain, insomnia, and heart palpitations. Skipping meals can cause not only dizziness, headaches, but also stomach tension. In addition, skipping meals and taking pills can lead to binge eating, which may cause eating disorders. Many people take regular exercises and eat healthily to lose weight. It is a good way to keep healthy. Taking exercises at least half an hour a day can improve excess fat consumption, which play an important way in keeping fit. Eating healthily can provide the body with necessary energy and people won’t feel dizzy.
The second difference of the two ways is the effects on people’s lives. Skipping
meals and taking diet pills are associated with a low caloric intake, which are likely to result in increased fatigue and lowered stamina. For students, this can be detrimental to academic performance. Some students may take their attention away from their academic work. Long–term hungry because of skipping meals may cause pessimistic
and lose passination towards life. But taking exercises and healthily eating can improve students’ efficiency in study. As research shows, taking regular exercises can have an important effect on people’s attitude towards life. You can become optimistic
and confident in life.
The third difference of the two different ways is the term of their efficacy. Skipping meals and taking diet pills has a quick effect on losing weight, but it is only a short term solution to obesity. Because of the negative side effects of these weight–loss techniques, young people are likely to give them up sooner or later , after which their body weight will never back to its former level. Skipping meals can even contribute to weight gain rather than loss. What’s more, skipping meals throughout
the day can lead to uncontrollable hunger pangs late at night, causing an individual’s
obesity to be further exacerbated. The way of taking regular exercises and normally eating has a slow effect on losing weight, but it is a long term solution to obesity. Taking regular exercises and normally eating is a good life-style and a good habit to lose weight. Once you lose weight, it’s difficult for people to revert back to its former
level. Healthily eating can sustain metabolism, thus improve the ability to burn off fat.
In a word, the way of taking anti–obesity medication and skipping meals and the
other way of taking regular exercises and eating healthily have different effects on
people’s health, people’s lives and the term of their efficacy. Only by adopting a long-term regular exercises and healthily eating can lose weight in a safe and sustained manner. So quit the bad habit of taking anti–obesity medication and
skipping meals. Let’s take regular exercises and eat healthily to keep fit.
