    Service Level Agreement

Specification class ‘K’- Teaching Workshops, Ceramics Areas

Daily, as part of the morning cleaning service provision:

    o Hard floor surface/s- Three-stage cleaning

    1. Carefully vacuum using specialised equipment, to remove all loose debris

    2. Soak wash, to remove all dust particles, and leave to dry

    3. Mop clean with a light-detergent solution, to remove any remaining ceramics residue

    o Floor mats- Carefully vacuum using specialised equipment, to remove all loose debris

    o Low-level surfaces- Two stage cleaning

    1. Carefully vacuum using specialised equipment, to remove all loose debris

    2. Wipe clean with a damp cloth and a light detergent solution, to remove all remaining

    ceramics residue

    o Chairs- wipe clean with a damp cloth and a light detergent solution, to remove all remaining

    ceramics residue

    o Door glass- wipe clean with a damp clean cloth and a light-detergent solution, and polish with a dry

    cloth leaving a streak/smear-free finish

    o Sinks, taps, and traps- remove all debris, wipe clean with a damp clean cloth and a light-detergent

    solution, and polish with a dry cloth to leave a streak/smear-free finish

    o Dispensers- Replenish, and wipe clean with a damp clean cloth and a light-detergent solution

    o Hand-towel units- Replenish (where applicable), and wipe clean with a damp clean cloth and a light-

    detergent solution

    o Waste bins- empty, by replacing the bin-liner

Weekly, usually as part of the morning cleaning service provision:

    o Hard floor surface/s- spot clean to remove all medium staining/marking, chewing gum, sticker, and/or

    tape residue

    o Floor mats- spot clean to remove all medium staining/marking, chewing gum, sticker, and/or tape

    residue

    o Low-level shelving- wipe clean with a damp clean cloth and a light detergent solution

    o Low-level ledges & internal sills- Two stage cleaning

    1. Carefully vacuum using specialised equipment, to remove all loose debris

    2. Wipe clean with a damp cloth and a light detergent solution, to remove all remaining

    ceramics residue

    o Phones- wipe clean with a damp clean cloth and a light detergent solution

    o Lockers- wipe clean with a damp cloth and a light detergent solution

    o Doors & door frames- wipe clean with a damp cloth and a light detergent solution

    o Skirting & edging- wipe clean with a damp cloth and a light detergent solution

    o Low-level pipe-work & heating- wipe clean with a damp cloth and a light detergent solution

    o Low-level electric switches and power-outlets- wipe clean with a damp cloth and a light detergent

    solution

    o Notice boards & white-boards- wipe clean around the frame with a damp clean cloth and a light-

    detergent solution

Periodically, once per annum

    o Hard floor surface/s- strip/wash to remove all heavy staining/marking

    o Floor mats- wash to remove all heavy staining

Periodically, on a six-month basis:

    o Window glass, frames, and external sills- washed clean to remove all loose debris and staining,

    leaving a streak/smear-free finish on the glass

    Please note that for Health & Safety reasons full protective equipment (goggles, mask, gloves, and an apron) must be worn at all times, and that only room-specific, and in some instances specialised, cleaning

    equipment should be used when cleaning the Ceramics workshops.

    In addition to this, the Service Provider has been instructed to complete all floor cleaning/maintenance works at least one hour prior to the room/area being used, so as to allow enough time for the floor surface to dry;

and that when it comes to all areas of the day-to-day cleaning service provision the University employs a

strict ‘clear-surface’ policy, which means that the Service Provider may not clean an area that it deems to be

either overly ‘cluttered’, and/or not easily accessible.
