    Step1 Lead-in

    Get the students to watch a TV program about wildlife protection and ask them the

    following questions:

    1. What animals can you see in the TV program?

    2. What happened to them?

    3. What does the TV program tell us?

    Step 2 Warming up

    1. Show the students a photo of a panda and tell them we call pandas endangered

    animals and then ask the question: What other endangered animals do you


    2. Why are they dying out?

    Step 3 Reading

    Task 1: Listening

    Listen to the tape and do the following exercises.

    1. What places did Daisy go?

    2. How many animals did she meet? What are they?

    3. What helps Daisy meet the wildlife?

    Task 2: Skimming

    1. Skim the passage to find out the main idea of the passage. 2. Get the students to divide the passage into three parts and match the main idea

    with each part.

Task 3: Scanning

    Scan the passage to tell the following statements true or false.

    1. Daisy saw many antelopes in Tibet.

    2. Daisy’s sweater was made of sheep wool.

    3. Daisy felt sad when she heard the antelope was endangered. 4. The elephants used to be well protected in Zimbabwe. 5. In Zimbabwe, tourists love to see elephants. 6. The farmers in Zimbabwe get nothing from the elephants now. 7. This is a real story in Daisy’s life.
