First World Symposium on Self-Healing and Consciousness Power - 4 -

Dear Friends and Colleagues from around the World,

Welcome to the "The First World Symposium on Self-Healing and Con-

sciousness Power". With your support and participation, this historical sympo-

sium will start soon. On behalf of the World Institute for Self-Healing, all co-

sponsors, and the organizing committee, I sincerely appreciate your attendance

    and support!

This unique symposium has received great support from US government

officials, the White House Committee on Complementary and Alternative Medi-

cine, and scientists and medical practitioners from around the world. It is their

strong support and genuine care that make this symposium a reality. I would like

to extend my utmost thanks to all of them.

The symposium will gather and exchange realistic and practical information regarding self-healing and consciousness power, which will enhance our abilities to eliminate diseases. This will help us understand more about ourselves, and our self-healing and consciousness potential. We need to gather more important data and information in order to develop a new medicine of drug-free therapy without side effects.

In the process of calling for papers, I am pleased to see so many experienced doctors and researchers working toward the same goal as WISH to explore new ways in "alternative and complementary therapies." They all have realized the limitations of the traditional medical approach, abandoned the old-fashioned way of thinking, and worked on alternatives to improve our medical approach and human health. Many of them have gathered valuable data. I congratulate them for making so many breakthroughs in the medical field.

This symposium will also serve as a bridge between the east and west for academic exchange and colla-boration. It will combine the best of both in working on ways to improve human health with the alternative therapy approach, and in searching for safe solutions to our ultimate goal health and longevity. This sympo-

sium will also quench our desire to know more about our own physical health and ways to combat diseases.

I believe the new knowledge and ideas that we are gathering at the symposium will give us a general picture on the future of medical approach. They will definitely have a major impact on new medical develop-ment in this new millenium.

May the symposium be a great success!

Binhui He

    Co-Chairman of the Symposium

President, World Institute for Self-Healing, Inc.

First World Symposium on Self-Healing and Consciousness Power - 5 -

Human health is one of the most popular topics and most challenging issues in the new millen-nium. This is prompted by an aging baby boomer population, the growth of cancer cases, rapid world-wide spread of HIV/AIDS, return of the once-overcome pulmonary TB, and the increasing new drug-resistant virus and bacteria strains produced by antibiotics or antibacterial drugs. Although pharmaceut-ical therapy based conventional medicine has had great success and achievements in combating acute or

infectious diseases and improving people's health, it failed to find effective cures for many chronic dis-eases. In fact, it may have brought more suffering and serious adverse drug reactions to patients. It is an alarming reality that annual U.S. mortality from adverse drug reactions exceeds the combined mortality of breast cancer and auto accidents. Both patients and medical practitioners are now desperately search-ing for more effective and safer alternatives.

Reports from around the world suggest that there is an effective alternative self healing or

mind-body medicine. Research indicates that the most powerful healing substances are actually located within the human body. One after another late-stage cancer patients recovered without medicine; many irreversible chronically diseased patients experienced spontaneous remission, some being labeled "clini-cally dead" suddenly awoke under the love of their friends and family; some HIV infected persons de-veloped natural immunity to AIDS; and more and more "incurable" diseases were defeated by natural therapies and drug-free healing. Categorizing, studying and discovering the rules and reasons be-

hind these "miracles" are the inspiration and motivation of scientific development, and they are also the motive and purpose of this international symposium on self-healing and consciousness power.

This unique research-oriented symposium will provide a forum to showcase ongoing scientific research involving the study, categorization, and discovery of the rules and reasons behind the effective-ness of self-healing, mental ability and biofield, as well as the methodology and practice issues in vari-ous self-healing therapies. The Symposium is also intended to provide a forum to foster interdiscipli-nary and international collaboration in the study of self-healing, mental ability and biofield healing.

The symposium will also explore the nature and range of human self-healing, and offer the scientific community and medical practitioners a unique opportunity to observe and verify some rare ex-traordinary human latent abilities and mind power. Keynote speeches and invited demonstrations of

drug-free healing and extraordinary human latent abilities will be presented in addition to regular scien-tific and panel discussions. These demonstrations and verification of some extraordinary human or pa-ranormal abilities, such as using intention to shrink a breast tumor, are not intended as entertainment, but for demonstrating the potential power of human intention or biofield and the need to learn and under-stand such an inner force in the human body.

First World Symposium on Self-Healing and Consciousness Power - 6 -

The Symposium will enable research scientists to:

Exchange new theories, methods and research findings in human self-healing, mind power, biofield and other

    alternative healings

Develop relationships with research colleagues and CAM practitioners worldwide so as to form an alliance of self-

healing and biofield methodologies within the research and alternative healing communities

Have a unique opportunity to witness and verify rare human extraordinary abilities to increase the visibility, un-

derstanding and awareness of such healing phenomena

Develop a coherent appeal to the National Science Foundation, Academy of Sciences, National Institutes of

Health and other government agents for more funding and the coordination of a comprehensive program of

scientific study on human self-healing, mental ability and biofield healing

The Symposium will enable health care professionals to:

Learn firsthand the current research status of many self-healing and biofield therapies that can be integrated and

developed into new approaches and treatment protocols for patients

Advance awareness and understanding of human self-healing and mental abilities, and their applications in health

    care and everyday life

Fully understand the nature and range of human self-healing, mental abilities and biofield, as well as their scientif-

    ic and medical implications

Discern and advise on various mind-body techniques for patients as part of their healing program

During this symposium, people with cancer & other chronic diseases will be able to:

Learn about and fully understand the extensive range of self-healing and alternative mind-body therapies available

    for recovery and preventive health

Understand the pros and cons as well as indications for complementary use of self-healing and mind-body thera-

pies and how these can be safely integrated into a healing program

Learn the perspective on self-healing and mind-body techniques, as well as the philosophy of protection of hu-

man internal environment from leading specialists in the field
