PART 1: GENERAL

1.1 CONFORMANCE

1.1.1 Conform to Division 1 General Requirements.

PART 2: PRODUCTS

2.1 INTEGRAL STAINLESS STEEL SINKS & COUNTERS

2.1.1 Stainless Steel Sinks:

2.1.2 Provide stainless steel sinks where indicated.

    2.1.3 Fabricate integral stainless steel sinks, drainboards, front apron edge and

    return ends of 18 Ga thick Type 316 stainless steel polished to AISI #4

    satin finish.

    2.1.4 Provide sink tops constructed with marine edge and integral splashback.

2.1.5 Provide sinks with coved corners and bottoms 1-1/2” radius with joints

    Heliarc welded and polished to match sinks bowls. Provide sink bottoms

    with dishing of 1; to drain fitting cut-out.

    2.1.6 Coat stainless steel sinks on underside with sound-deadening undercoating

    of H.L. Blachford “D.L.-10 Aquaplus”. Apply in accordance with

    manufacturer’s directions.

2.1.7 Provide sink bowl with one stainless steel 1-1/2” drain fitting complete

    with washers, lock washer, 3” long stainless steel tailpiece with washer

    and coupling nut, located in the right or left hand corner of sink

    compartment.

    2.1.8 Provide matching 1-1/2” diameter stainless steel corner waste standing

    overflow and removable perforated corner guards for each sink.

    2.1.9 Provide adapters and coupling type nuts as required to make connections

    to drain lines furnished by separate Mechanical Trades. Acceptable type of

    adapters and coupling nuts; Kilian “RC6/316”, with grid strainer and

    tailpiece assembly 315/316.

    2.1.10 Where stainless steel sinks are located in stainless steel bench tops, weld

    integrally with top in accordance with requirements specified under

    Section 11605, Art. 2.2

2.2 DRAINBOARDS

    2.2.1 Provide fluted drain boards in material and thickness to match tops, sloped

    to sink, joined integrally with tops unless otherwise noted on Laboratory

    Drawings.

PART 3: EXECUTION

3.1 INSTALLATION

    3.1.1 Comply with requirements of Section 11600 for installation and cleaning.

    3.1.2 Install tops in accordance with reviewed shop drawings, securing them in

    position by rigid, concealed fixing methods which allows no movement or

    rocking on completion.

    3.1.3 Joints between 2 lengths of tops either similar or dissimilar materials shall

    be level, flush and shall form a hairline joint. Fill joints with sealant.

    Install same types of tops to each other using bead sealant and locktite

    fasteners. Clean sealant from exposed surfaces in a manner precluding

    surface damage.

    3.1.4 Integral tops over 10’-0” long shall be built up of sections as large as

    practical with abutting ends machined flush, fitted to a watertight joint

    with acid resistant cement and secured with Tight-Joint fasteners on the

    underside.

    3.1.5 Where two different types of top materials butt, both tops shall be self-

    edged in their respective materials and shall be joined by Tight-Joint

    fasteners on the underside and sealed.

3.1.6 Mechanically fix all tops to leg frames from underside.
