10800; Toilet Accessories [Standards]

    SECTION 10800 TOILET ACCESSORIES

    PART 1 - GENERAL

1.1 RELATED SECTIONS:

     Refer to Section 10155 for the requirements relating to toilet compartments.

     Refer to Section 15400 for the requirements regarding plumbing systems, including

    plumbing fixtures.

1.2 SCOPE OF SECTION:

    This section provides information regarding specific washroom accessories that are

    manufactured items for use in toilet rooms.

1.3 TOILET ROOM ACCESSORIES:

    A. In general, toilet accessories shall be surface mounted, not recessed.

    Devices shall be securely mounted to prevent theft, vandalism and damage

    during normal university activities.

    B. Unless otherwise noted, items are to be of satin finished, stainless steel

    construction.

    C. The following items are preferred items by Facilities Services, although not all

    items will be included with each project and additional items may be

    necessary:

    1. Paper Towel Dispenser: Bradley 250-15

    2. Paper Towel Waste Disposal: Bradley 355

    3. Automatic Hand Dryer: Bradley 2870-28

    4. Framed 24x36 Mirror: Bradley 780-2436

    5. Liquid Soap Dispenser: Bradley 6542/6562

    6. Toilet Tissue Dispenser: Georgia-Pacific 59493

    7. Stainless Steel Grab Bars: Bradley 812

    8. Sanitary Napkin Disposal Unit: Bradley 4722-15

    9. Coat/Clothes Hook: Bradley 915

    10. Shower Seat: Bradley 9558-Color

    11. Heavy Duty Soap Dish: Bradley 900-59

    12. Shower Curtain Rod: Bradley 9539

    13. Anti-Bacterial Shower Curtain: Bradley 9537

    D. Provide Roller Glide Shower Curtain Hooks as opposed to slide type.

    E. Equals by ASI, AJ or Bobrick are acceptable with prior written approval by

    Project Manager.

    F. All parts shall be installed in a substantial, rigid manner making sure all edges

    are straight, level and plumb.

    G. Adjust accessories for unencumbered, smooth operation and verify that

    mechanisms function properly.

    H. Contractor is to maintain protection of device finishes during course of

    construction until project is accepted by Owner, at which time protective

    plastic wrapping or other protective devices can be removed.

    I. Finished surfaces shall be cleaned after installation and left free of

    imperfections.
