    Strainstall Marine is a world leader in the design and installation of monitoring and control systems for the oil & gas industry that enhance safe operation. They are part of the James Fisher & Sons plc Group of companies. Since its inception in the 1960's, Strainstall Marine has been committed to measuring, monitoring and assessing strain, stress and load for the marine and offshore industries.

    An opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to join the team. The role will report in to the Programme Manager and will involve managing multiple projects at anyone time and at different stages of development.

The Role

    Responsible for the overall management of assigned projects throughout the planning, delivery and installation phases to ensure the project is completed within agreed parameters of scope, cost, timescale and quality.

Responsibilities:

    ; Attend tender meetings to ensure all aspects covered in the quoting stage

    ; Attend handover meetings to ensure all aspects of the delivery are

    understood

    ; Put together project plan including all stages of work, including stage

    payments, quality reviews

    ; Manage the delivery of the project, delegating actions, as necessary, through

    to delivery on time and within budget

    ; Monitor and report the financial status of each project

    ; Monitor and forecast the necessary resource for the execution of each project

    ; Manage and mitigate the risks associated with each project

    Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned

    projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

    ; Run spreadsheet to monitor tendered cost versus spend

    ; As and when variations or changes occur, update plan to reflect changes to

    timing and/or cost

    ; Reviewing technical and customer facing documents (e.g. user requirement

    specifications, user manuals, test protocols, etc)

    ; Keep all parties advised of progress against plan

    ; Complete all closure activities, primarily ensuring lessons learnt can be

    reviewed for business improvements.

Required experience:

    ; Proven track record as a project manager (within the engineering/marine

    environment a significant advantage)

    ; Exposure to and an understanding of project management methodologies,

    such as Prince 2.

    ; Managing multiple projects simultaneously from bid to delivery (specifically

    with fabrication/manufacture/steel works/machinery)

    ; Excellent leadership, problem solving, planning and progress control skills are

    essential

    ; Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure

    environment is crucial
