VA Employees and WOC appointees must complete VA Research Data

Information Security 201 for Research and Development Personnel Course for VA PAID

    Employees

    All VA paid staff involved in VA human subjects research must complete the Information

    Security 201 for Research and Development Personnel course through the Talent

    Management System (TMS)

    If you have not already logged into TMS for other on-line trainings, follow the log in instructions below:

    Your User ID is in the following format:

    ; All letters are CAPITAL

    ; LASTNAME.FIRSTNAMEmmdd (mm= month of birth dd= date of birth)

    Your password will be Password#1. You will be asked to change your password the first time you log onto the TMS.

    Please note that the course does not need to be completed in one setting. You may exit the course and log on at another time and you will be asked whether you would like to return to the last page viewed.

Once logged into TMS:

    1. The Information Security 201 for Research and Development Personnel course must be

    added to your learning plan. In the “Catalog” box, enter “Research & Development” and Enter,

     2. Select the “Add to To-Do list” action for the Information Security 201 for Research and

    Development Personnel course.

3. Select “Go to Content” action for the Information Security 201 for Research and

    Development Personnel course.

4. Select Information Security 201 for Research and Development Personnel and view the

    course.

    5. You must complete all of the following modules to obtain credit for the course. The bullet to the left of each module must be completely filled in order to obtain credit for the course.

    6. After you have finished the course you will be instructed to close the window. Select “Return to Content Structure” to take the post-test.

7. Select Information Security 201 for Research and Development Personnel post test.

    8. Once you have successfully completed the test, close the window, and Select “Return to Content Structure.

    9. If you have successfully completed the course and the post-test, the completion dates will appear under “Completion Date. To obtain your “Completion Certificate” select “Learning

    History.”

10. Then select “Print Completion Certificate.”

11. Send Completion Certificate to:
