     T?Class begins. Good morning,everybody.

     S?Good morning,teacher.

     Step ? Warming-up and Lead-in (6 mins )

     Ask the students what they will be in the future, and ask some of them to

    share their ideas.

     T: Now, I will ask you one question. What will you be in the future?

     S1: I will be a teacher in the future.

     T: Okay,to be a teacher,thats a good job. How about others? Attention,I

    would like you to tell me like thisI will be„„in the future.

     S2: I will be a traffic cop in the future.

     T: Wow!Great! I hope you can work in Neijiang,for the traffic here is

    really terrible. So all of you will be different in the future. But how about

    the world in the future, supposing 100 years from now. Can you make

    some predictions? Please talk with your partner .

     ( During their talking, the teacher is walking around in the classroom in

    case the students need help. After their talking, invite some students to

    present their ideas )

     T: Okay, stop,time is up. Now I’d like to share your ideas.Whod like to share

    yours first ?

    Present the sentence patterns on the screen,and ask the students to read

    after the teacher. Then explain them.

     T: Now,class,read after me,please.

    1. Ask the students to turn to page 2, and finish activity 1a . Before that, I

    will guide them to go over all the statements.

    T: Now please turn to page 2,and look at activity 1a, read the

    predictions.Check (?) A (for agree)or D for (disagree).

    2. Play the tape, then check the answers.

    T: Okay, I see all of you have finished it, and you have different answers.

    Lets listen to the tape. Listen carefully and check.

    3. Check the answers.

    T: Ok, now, lets check your answers.

    4. Invite some students to the platform to present their talking.

    T: Okay, stop.Who want to show yourselves here ?

     Ask them to work in pairs practicing the sentence patterns in activity 1a.

    T: Please work in pairs,ask and answer questions about the predictions

     Ask the students to work in groups with 4 persons in each to make more

    predictions with their own imagination,then invite them to present their

    ideas.Also,we will find out the best group in the end.

     T: Now I’d like you to work in groups„„

    T: Good job.So,class,which group do you think is the best one?

    Ss: the second group.

    T: Today,we have learnt some words to predict the future,please try to

    learn them by heart. Moreover, we also learned how to make predictions

    with some sentence patterns, try to take some more time to practice the

    questions and answers after class. Ok,class is over. So long. ?. Optional Activity

    A game : One student is invited to come to the platform, and the other students are allowed ask him or her questions about activity1a or 2a. If he or she gives the right answer,then she can go back to his or her seat,and another student will come. If not,he or she will go on answering questions till giving the right answer. The students are required to use the newly-learned words and sentence patterns to carry out thisactivity. A sample should be given to the students at first. ?.
