    o Journal Proptt: What is the difference, if any, between storytelling and folktales?

    ; Class will discuss sponge.

    o Teacher will explain Passing on Tradition or Culture: to express or communicate feelings

    or ideas, info. (storytelling, folktales) Standard 3.4.1. and use a personal story.

    o Students will then be put into small groups of 4. They will each share a personal story and

    choose the best one to tell to the class. The person’s who story is selected must make

    sure that everyone in the group knows it by heart.

    o Each group will get up & tell the story. The teacher will put their hand on the students

    head to start them, take it off to start & place it on another students head & continue.

    This way each student must be prepared.

    o Then the class has to guess whose story it is.

    1. Discuss sponge with the students. Look at the quilts shown on the

    smartboard & on the tables. Making connections to math.

    o Day 2-6: Quilt Project

    ; Students will create their own quilt block using fabric blocks & fabric markers.

    Students will have their choice of designs and colors choices. GT students will be

    required to do a rotating design quilt block for difficulty.
