Position: Field Scout

Division: Northwest Operations
Description: The Field Scout is responsible for pest trap placement, monitoring/recording
pest activity of various crops and pests. The Field Scout works closely with the field sales and
the operations support team.
; Field scouting looking for economic pests in various crops - Hazelnuts, Berries,
; Trapping and monitoring
o Prepare traps for placement in the field
o Travel to field with traps as directed
o Install traps in trees/fields
o Inspect traps on a weekly basis.
o Maintain data counts of the number of pests trapped.
o Empty traps and reset for next week.
o Enter data counts into Excel spreadsheet or Ag Verdict.
o Relay information to the appropriate Sales Representative. ; Take Soil and tissue sampling as needed or directed by Sales Representative
; Plot and trial assistance
; Operating Ag verdict
; Deliveries (only when necessary)
; Comply with company safety standards.
Minimum Skills required:
o Willing to put in the time till job is done
; Self starter and self motivator
; Observant of surroundings
; Ability to drive company vehicle
; Ability to operate an all terrain vehicle (ATV/4-wheeler) ; Comfortable working alone in fields
; Have strong interest in Field Agronomy
; Open to learning Ag Verdict
; Able to walk for extended periods of time
; Can keep good records
; Good math skills (able to maintain accurate counts when looking at traps, leaves, ect.)
; Not afraid to get dirty
; Time management skills
; Can lift at least 50lb
; Willing to work with Plant protection Product and Fertilizers (deliveries, ect) ; Good interpersonal skills with co-workers as well as growers/customers
o Friendly, outgoing and inquisitive
o Can take instructions well both oral and written
o Not afraid to ask questions when they arise
; Proficiency with standard software including MS Office Suite.
