    Time: 40 minutes

    Teaching material: Junior English, Book 2,Grade 8. Unit 2 What should I do? Teaching aims:

    By the end of the lesson, students should be able to: 1. talk about problems and try to give proper advice;

    2. try to use and remember the key structure;

    3. practise dialogue with substitutions;

    4. learn to be a good listener and do whatever they can to help others. Teaching contents:new words:out of style,argue,wrong;

     new structure:Whats wrong?/Whats the matter?

    Language skills:speaking,cooperation

    Teaching aids:pictures,PPT,blackboard,chalk

    Teaching procedures:

    Warm-up(3 mins):a conversation between the teacher and students. Stage 1,Presentation(10 mins)

     a.Use the teachers own clothes,picture and one wrong sentence to introduce new words

     b.Guess the problems showing in the pictures and try to give proper advice.Finally

    make a short conversation with the first group of problem & advice by using the new

    structure. (The teacher demonstrates first.)

    Stage 2,Practice(12 mins)

    a. Work in pairs to finish tne next two groups of problems & advice by using the

    new structure.

    b. Role play the conversation. Volunteer pairs.

    Stage 3,Production(15 mins):

     a. Use the new structure to make conversations about problems in daily life and

    in study,and advice.

    b.Volunteers to present the conversations.

    c.Do some exercises to review what is learned.

    Summary:A:Whats the matter? / Whats wrong;

    B:My clothes are out of style.What should I do?

    A:Maybe you should / could buy some new clothes.

    B:Thats a good idea.

    Extension of friendship and help.

    Homework:Write a short passage about your families problems and your advice for

    them.
