    The MEG presents its collection of carved New Caledonian bamboos, the great passion of Marguerite Lobsiger-Dellenbach, the Museum's director from 1952 to 1967. The bamboos are among the most original works of Kanak art. Entirely covered with abstract and figurative motifs, they serve to recall and recount the many aspects of Kanak life, including the sudden impact of colonisation.
