Principles for a victorious life
Allow me, beloved brothers and sisters, to share with you some of my life
principles. I have learned to live by these principles and they have been very
efficient in helping me to live a victorious life. I hope that they will help you as well.
1. Don’t let anybody define your identity and personality.
Believe what the word of God says who you are in Christ. The devil will use many people to try to belittle you and downgrade you. The devil will try to make you feel guilty by pointing to your past life and sins. You should know who you are in Christ. There will always be some people who will want to tell you who you are and who you are not. Listen to Jesus and believe what the word of God tells you about yourself. You are a child of God, a servant of Jesus-Christ, the king of kings, called to live a victorious life in Christ-Jesus.
2. Don’t let anyone rob your vision.
Keep the vision God has given you. It’s alright to help other people to accomplish their vision, but many people in doing so neglect the vision and mission God has given them. They are here and there doing this and that, attending every conference and are lost in so many commitments that they don’t even realize that they have gone off the track concerning the vision God has given them.
3. Don’t have any other model than the Lord Jesus.
Don’t take your eyes off Jesus. Meet Him personally everyday in prayer. I
yearn to have a deeper communion with my Lord. Don’t try to imitate any famous man. You should of course praise God for their ministry and support them by your prayers. But only Jesus should you strive to imitate.
“ And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being
transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the lord, who is the Spirit” ( 2 Corinthians 3:18 )
4. Pray continually I Thessalonians 5: 17
Don’t reduce your time of prayer and communion with God.
Pray more if you can, but never reduce your prayer time. Nothing is more important than our communion with God what kind of relationship do you have with the Holy-Spirit of God. We should yearn for a deeper relationship with God and this can be done only through long time of prayer and waiting upon the Lord.
5. Wait upon the Lord to hear His voice.
Don’t reduce your meditation and listening time. Spend much time in His
presence. Read and meditate the word of God. Wait upon the Lord as you study his word. Hearing his voice and obeying what He says is the most important thing you can do.
6. Value and treasure those God has given you as team members.
Nothing of importance can be achieved alone. The Apostle Paul had a team of faithful collaborators around him. But ask God His guidance and spiritual discernment. Don’t just admit anybody who expresses the desire to join your
team. Some association may be detrimental to your growth. I am sure that God has already put on your way competent and dedicated people to help you.
7. Keep a blameless conscience.
We should learn to confess and ask forgiveness for every sinful behaviour immediately, on the spot, without delay.
“ Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before
God and receive from Him anything we ask, because we obey his commands and do what pleases him.” ( I John 3:21-22)
To have a strong faith before God in prayer and stand firm against the wiles of the devil we should have a strong and blameless conscience, otherwise you will not have the strength needed to defeat the enemy.
8. Don’t grieve the Holy-Spirit.
Surrender to Him. There is no weakness in God. The Holy-Spirit is the Spirit of the almighty God. The Spirit of His infinite holiness. However the Spirit of God can be grieved and people can even resist Him. He is a real person. He sees, hears and speaks. He is omniscient and omnipresent. But as he is the Spirit of God’s love, He is often grieved by thoughtless Christians who do not respect His presence. Be always aware of His Holy presence. Listen to His voice. He will never lead you to do something contrary to the word of God. It is the Holy-Spirit who brings the presence of Jesus and manifest God’s power.
9. Voice out what you believe.
God changed the name of Abram into that of Abraham which means “father
of a multitude.” He was to become the “father of many nations.” So people began to call him Abraham, “father of many children.”
Don’t hesitate to tell what you believe and to talk about your vision and
convictions. You should, of course, be careful not to share your vision with the wrong people who won’t understand anything and could even create needless problems. But you should learn to voice out what you believe and at the appointed time your vision will become a reality. I sincerely believe that the Lord will do something that will far greater than all that you could have imagined.
If you fear to voice out your vision because you are doubtful about their realization nothing will happen.
10. Be ready when the appointed time comes.
There is a due time when God will move in power and lift you up.
“ Humble yourselves , therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him because he cares for you.” ( I
Peter 5 : 6-7).
Be watchful in order not to miss God’s given opportunity when the appointed time comes.
I pray that the Lord use these words to bless you abundantly. Make full use of theses principles. Be a person of INTEGRITY, that is, be a complete in your character, be “whole” in your personality. We should be the same in whatever situation in which we can find ourselves.
GOD BLESS YOU
