WITT’S END CONSTITUTION
Witt’s End is a student improvisational comedy troupe. We perform long-form improv on
campus, throughout Ann Arbor, and across the country.
ARTICLE I. NAME
ARTICLE II. PURPOSE
We aim to improve our improvisational skills through rehearsal, performance, and interaction with other improvisers across the country.
ARTICLE III. MEMBERSHIP
Both students and non-students are eligible to join, but the group can consist of no more than one-third non-students.
We hold auditions in the fall of each year. Returning members of the group decide who will be accepted. Acceptance is based on individual potential, talent, and fit with the group.
ARTICLE IV. OFFICERS
Witt’s End generally has two “officer” positions: Leader and Treasurer. Either may be filled by one member or several. Leader is in charge of artistic direction of troupe and leads rehearsals. Treasurer is in charge of group finances and general bureaucracy: securing funding, registering the group, booking rehearsal space, and keeping financial records.
ARTICLE VI. FINANCES
Group activities are financed primarily by MSA and revenue from performances. Additional funding from individual members.
Treasurer is responsible for finances.
ARTICLE VII. AMENDMENTS
Amendments may be proposed at the start of a rehearsal.
Any member may propose an amendment.
Amendments can be voted on immediately or later. Voting will be done verbally.
ARTICLE VIII. REMOVAL OF MEMBERSHIP
If an officer is neglecting duties, they may be removed.
Removal of officers shall be determined by group discussion and vote.
Members shall be removed if they are absent from a gross number of rehearsals without excuse.
Removal of members shall be determined by group discussion and vote.
ARTICLE IX BY-LAWS.
If a member is absent without excuse from rehearsals 3 times in a semester, their membership may be reviewed by the group. Three unexcused tardies (more than ten minutes late) constitutes an unexcused absence.
