     Chevening E-Form

    Please go to the web link:

    https://www.chevening.fco.gov.uk/CheveningApplications/CA_Start.aspx

1. Please note that the site is designed for use with Microsoft IE 5.5 or above.

2. Click on ‘’ Please read the notes before proceeding.’’. After reading, please click

    ‘’Continue’’.

3. When you return to the main page, please click on the ‘Application Conditions’ to

    read the conditions and press continue.

    4. When you return to the main page and after reading the terms and conditions, Type

    your full name and click on ‘’ I accept the terms and conditions ‘’ and click Continue.

5. If you are a new user, you will need to Register by entering your Full name (The

    Name field is case sensitive) and you will need to create your own password and write

    it in ‘’ Type your password’’ and re-confirm it by writing it in the line below beside ‘’

    Confirm password’’ Following successful registration, you will be directed to the Log

    in page.

    6. In the Log In page, please re-enter your name and password and then press Log in

    and then click OK.

    7. After logging in, you will need to enter your details including mandatory fields.

8. On the Right hand side of the page Click Save to save the details you have entered.

    9. Then click on ‘’ Contact Details’’ to enter your address and contact details. You will

    need to enter your home address, work address, contact address and next of kin

    address. Whenever you complete each of them click on Save. If you have completed

    all fields on this screen click the OK button to save the information and return to

    Applicant Details.

10. Then click on Current situation and answer the questions on that page. Click on

    Save and then OK to return to Applicant Details.

11. Then move to the Education Information and click on Academic background to enter

    all your academic qualifications obtained since completing your secondary education,

    stating the institutions attended, the main subjects of study and when the main

    courses started and finished. Start with the most recent then the older.

    Whenever you finish a qualification and you want to add a new one , click on ‘’ Add

    New Details’’ .To save your last qualification entered click ‘’Add new details’ and

    click OK to return to the main page.

12. Then move to the Professional Background to list all positions and your

    employments details since you completed your university education. Start with the

    new one, click on ‘’ Add New Details’’. To save your last qualification entered click

    ’Add new details’’ and then click OK to return to the main page.

13. Then move to the ‘’Proposed Course’’ and complete Page 1 and click OK , then

    complete Page 2 then click OK and finally Page 3 then click OK to return to the main

    page. (You can use the website: www.educationuk.org to search or find a specific

    course at UK universities).

14. Then move to ‘Other information’ and enter the names and details of 2 referees.

    Then click OK to return to the main page.

15. Then move to ‘And Finally’ which includes the Personal Statement and Research

    proposal sections. Please state in not more than 2000 words in the space provided :

    wish to follow and explain how it will help you with the work you expect to do on your

    16. If you are seeking to undertake research please also give details of your research

    proposals in not more than 2,000 words in the space provided under: Research

    Proposal. Then click OK to return to the main page.

17. Finally, if you have completed all fields and all sub-screens click the ‘Submit’ button to

    send your application. Then you will get a page that informs you that your application

    is submitted. Remember you have to click on print before submitting your applications

    form if you want to keep a hard copy of your application.

    18. Once your application is submitted, you will not be able to make any amendments.

    Important note: application forms from current FCO staff members' and those that have left

    the employment within the last two years at FCO departments, will not be considered.
