    Preface

    This supplement brings current the Fair Labor Standards Act treatise and, we anticipate, will be combined with prior supplements and published as a pocket part. The supplement covers the period September 1, 2002 through August 31, 2003. It also serves as the 2003 report of the Fair Labor Standards Act Subcommittee.

    In two respects this paper is written as a pocket part rather than a standard-alone report. First, it does not recite areas in which there were no developments. Second, there are text and footnote references in a few spots that are somewhat oblique without the main volume. Our belief, however, is that the information is sufficiently clear to inform the reader of case developments.
