Dr Wendy Lawson Seminars

    Wendy Lawson is an adult with autism and is a well-known speaker on autism. We have

    just completed a series of seminars throughout the UK and Ireland with Sue and Wendy,

    and are excited to confirm that we will be bringing Wendy to New Zealand in October

    2010. Wendy is a fantastic speaker and provides amazing insights into the world of a

    person with autism.

Suicide Intervention Skills Workshop

Lifeline Aotearoa provides ASIST Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training

    Workshops in Whangarei, Auckland, Hamilton, Napier, Wellington, Christchurch and

    Dunedin, from March through to December.

Parent and Family Resource Centre Crafting a Future Workshops

The Parent and Family Resource Centre, together with their Belonging Initiative Partners

    (FAST, Parent 2 Parent and Standards Plus) are running weekend Crafting a Future

    workshops for families with a disabled person. The course content is uplifting, positive

    and full of hope for a better future for disabled people.

You are invited to an inspiring weekend for families with a disabled family member who

    are seeking strategies for a better life. This two day workshop will discuss themes such as:

    ? Establishing a vision of a good life for your family member

    ? Building a larger network of enduring relationships to uncover potential and ensure

    community involvement

    ? Valued roles as an empowering part of any good life

    ? Wills, trusts, estates, and benefits.

If you have ever wondered who will ensure your family member's interests are protected,

    their contributions recognised and their needs and choices honoured, especially when

    you are no longer here, then this course is for you. The workshop costs $20 for disabled

    persons and $50 for family members. Locations and dates for the workshops are:
