    PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

    Vice President, Product Development, WorthPoint, Inc, McLean, VA and Columbus, OH 03/2008 02/2010

    As Director, Product Development managed the Agile development process for the maintenance and

    enhancement of the WorthPoint website (http://www.worthpoint.com/). Baseline was built on the Drupal

    CMS utilizing 200+ modules and contained over 2 million nodes. Development team consisted of a local

    lead engineer and offshore developers in Illigan City, Philippines.

     Managed 30 plus developers locally and off-shore. Traveled to off-shore contractor facilities in

    Philippines to oversee implementation of new development processes and team structure.

     Work with product owners to populate backlog, prioritize tasks, and monitor sprints. Managed each

    product owner as their own project including Product Manager, Sales, Taxonomy/Operations,

    Marketing, Content and Data Loading.

    WorthPoint acquired GoAntiques in the winter of 2009 and the development efforts were migrated to their offices/team in Columbus, OH. Product Development Director role migrated to a Vice President position with the responsibility of overseeing all efforts pertaining to software maintenance and new development. The development team for this consisted of a team of 8 software engineers and quality assurance personnel in Columbus.

     Supported the migration of all content from Drupal to a Grails/Wordpress architecture. Developed

    the new WorthPoint theme for Wordpress and migrated existing content of over 3000 articles.

     Managed requirements and developers efforts for new functionality and efforts including the

    following:

    o Creation of backend management system for support staff to monitor and troubleshoot

    customer issues

    o Migration of e-commerce from VeriSign to Paypal

    o Creation of coupon codes to allow for discount offerings of all WorthPoint products

    o Established weekly newsletter with subscription option

    o Managed efforts to define an all-encompassing taxonomy for antiques and collectibles.

    Internal subject matter experts defined the top two node levels. Designed and oversaw the

    development of a patented crowd sourced solution to define further levels through the use of

    a custom wiki. Launched Alpha version of the wiki in January 2010.

    o Supported various SEO improvements within the site. Efforts resulted in an average of

    100k daily unique visitors to the site in December.

     Worked closely with customer support staff to respond to all problem reports.

    Director, Technical Services, Siteworx, Inc, Reston, VA 10/2006 10/2007

    As Director, Technical Services, managed the development arm of Siteworx. Coordinated efforts to seamlessly progress through User Experience, Design, Development and ultimately delivery. Responsible for personnel management of developers and development managers. Successfully reorganized Tech Services from a matrix to a team based model that allowed for quicker response time to clients, optimized resource allocation and improved career management opportunities.

     Manager and mentor of ~40 web developers of various levels and abilities.

     Managed the successful launch of the Rochester, NY satellite office.

     Account manager for CCCU, College Board and US News and World Report.

     Product manager for Axiom, a Siteworx developed content management system (CMS), and

    associated modules.

Program Manager, Titan Corporation, Reston, Virginia 07/1996 05/2006

    Promoted through a series of advanced technical roles to a leadership position managing the United States Marine Corps Engineering and Operations Program. Serve as Lead Systems Engineer for the USMC’s Technical Control

    and Analysis Center (TCAC). Manage an aggregate budget of $5.2 million for nine projects. Lead a staff of 35 consisting of software engineers and associated technicians, help desk personnel and on site support personnel. Design, develop, test and document projects in concert with executives and technical teams. Create and implement SEI CMM SW Level 3 process improvements across the program.

    Maintain a high level of customer contact and conduct extensive progress briefings and demonstrations. Relied upon by USMC representatives for technical and domain knowledge and guidance on program improvements and projects. Represent Titan and the Marine Corps on four technical working groups at the Defense Information Systems Agency. Member of the Management Steering Committee of Titan’s Systems Integration Sector.

    Key Projects and Achievements:

    ; Designed new database architecture for TCAC (utilizing Sybase 12.5, XML technologies and Cocoon) that

    provides greater interoperability within the USMC SIGINT family of systems. This successful effort

    cemented the client relationship and was instrumental in increasing TCAC revenue from $40,000 in

    FY2000 to $2.1 million in FY2005, a key segment of anticipated total program revenue of $5.2 million. ; As Lead Integration Engineer, coordinated resources from multiple government offices to gather

    requirements and develop initial version of the Collection Management Mission Applications (CMMA)

    program for the Defense Department. Created infrastructure, applications, and data provisioning.

    Shepherded CMMA to successful DoDISS certification.

    ; Software Development Manager for the Navy’s Information Warfare Mission Planner (IWMP), including

    manning, SEI documentation, security accreditation, scheduling and initial requirement development.

    Managed daily activities of nine engineers working on multiple prototypes. Developed architecture

    utilizing XML to create dynamic user interfaces based on SQL queries.

    ; Project Manager for Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA) support project involving six engineers

    working at two sites.

    ; Software Development Manager for the Tactical Control and Analysis Center Product Improvement

    Program (TCAC-PIP) for the Marine Corps. Installed Sun/Solaris SPARC workstations developed using

    X-Windows/OSF Motif interfaces.

    ; Designed functional studies and created a migration plan to port TCAC to the DII COE baseline, a

    successful effort that has become the standard for other Titan programs.

    ; Resurrected a stalled project to lead successful SEI CMM Level 3 software assessment, working closely

    with the customer and providing key domain knowledge.

    ; Supported successful Protection Level 2 security accreditation critical to TCAC operation, resolving issues

    with the baseline that threatened the process.

Test Engineer, International Research Institute (INRI), Reston, Virginia 07/1995 07/1996

    Provided technical leadership on multiple Department of Defense contracts. Designed and executed test plans and procedures. Lead tester in a matrix environment for the first two versions of the Defense Information Infrastructure Common Operating Environment (DII COE). Gained expertise in working across the development domain, collaborating with Systems Engineers and Software Engineers throughout the process. Key Projects and Achievements:

    ; Developed test procedures for system administration and security aspects of the Joint Maritime Command

    Maintained and operated command and control systems for various deployments, including a rotation at the Joint Interagency Task Force in Key West, Florida as the J-3 Systems Administrator for the Joint Operations Command Center (JOCC). Trained operators on more than 20 joint military systems and related software. Responsible for connectivity of JOCC to related systems and the internal LAN.
