Best New Start Award - Award for Business Commitment to the Community ...

Best New Start Best New Start

The Biz Awards are proud to be different. They’re not about being the biggest or the most

profitable. The Biz Awards are about determination, focus and perseverance. The Biz Awards are

about you. Your story, your journey and your experience.

We recognise and celebrate the hurdles, the challenges, the strength of spirit and the sheer brick

walls that business men and women have overcome so that they can live their business dream.

Back in 2007 when the awards were first launched, we set out to uncover and recognise the

difficulties that people here in Yorkshire had faced in order to get their business idea’s off the

ground. And we also wanted to recognise those established businesses who have kept on fighting

to survive and ultimately, to thrive.

In a climate where running any business should be celebrated we appeal to you to give yourself the recognition you deserve. It’s your time to give yourself a pat on the back and thank your team

or your family for their support. To help you decide whether your story should be heard, here are

some examples of adversity but don’t forget, you may have your own unique journey to share:

o Being unable to source finance conventional funding not available

    o Disability

    o Overcoming educational set backs

o Significant environmental (business environment) factors that have affected the business

o Any other factors you believe would prevent most businesses from succeeding

thPlease complete the application form by the 16 July 2010 and return to the Biz awards team
