Remove Stress From Your Daily Life
Let’s imagine that you are a housewife. You make breakfast for your family, drop your children up to school, and then perform your chores, run your errands. Won’t it be really stressful if you wake up late? But do you know that everyday people wake up, more than half of them have potential stress problems.
According to the National Science Foundation, 30% of adults experience
enough daily stress to impact work and home performance. How about you? Are there too many pressures on you? Always stay at night worrying about presentations and homefun? You're not alone. Everyone experiences stress at times — adults, teens, and even kids. But there are ways to remove stress form your daily life.
Today, I will tell you what stress is, where it comes from, and what problem that stress may causes. And I am going to focus on the way of how to overcoming stress.
What’s stress? Stress is a word that we heard a lot nowadays, when we are exhausted or fretful, we may say, ‘I am stressed’. But, what exactly is stress?
Stress is a feeling when we have to face some unusual events or to handle more than we used to. It’s good to have a little stress in our daily life, because it can motivate us to work hard. But stress overload will be another one. For example, stressing out too much about a test can make you distracted from your study.
You may wonder that what kind of problems will stress lead to, yet before we move on to that part, we’d better find out the causes of stress first. There are some common causes of stress: boring or lonely work, Excessive or impossible demands, Barriers that prevent you from reaching your goals, family problems, financial matters, interpersonal relationship troubles, small daily hassles, illnesses, even overcrowding could be the source of your stress.
While stress is not considered as an illness, it cause a variety of physical sicknesses such as headaches, an upset stomach, back pain, high blood pressure, indigestion, insomnia, and heart disease. It can weaken your immune system, making it harder to fight off disease. If you already have a health problem, stress make it worse. What’s more, stress can cause the same
symptoms as those caused by depression and anxiety. It seems live with stress does more harm than good.
Good news is that you can learn to overcome your stress problems. First of all, take out a piece of paper, write down the things that make you stressed out and your thoughts about it. So that you can figure out your stressors, and control it better. Here comes the way:
; Make a list of priorities. Think about which things are most important,
and do them first. If you're feeling overloaded, consider canceling an
activity or two. So that you can have a breathing space.
; Be realistic and do not pretend to be strong. No one is perfect. Don’t
make too great demands on yourself and others, it can add to your stress.
If you have any problem, go ask for help.
; Live a regular healthy life. Early to bed and early to rise. Enough sleep
keep your body and mind at your best, making you better equipped to deal
with any negative stressors. Eat well at regular hours. Make sure your
body has enough energy to run. Don’t smoke. Limit how much alcohol you
drink. Although these things relieve the stress temporarily, actually they
promote more stress. Because they undermine your body’s ability to
; Try to think different ways. Your attitude and thoughts influence the way
you see things. When you find yourself starting to worry, stop that thoughts,
try to think another way. If there’re something you cannot change, let it go.
Sometimes, it benefits to give up.
; Do something to relax your body. Such as massage, spa, yoga, tai chi,
or just take a deep breath. Besides, both cultivating a new hobby and do
some volunteer works can be a great stress reliever.
; Let your feelings out. Laugh or cry, both is ok. You can find someone you
trust and talk to them about your problems. For my part, I usually get a
bottle, filling it with water. Then, speak out my troubles. After that, I pour
the water. In this way, I do release my stress. You can try it.
If still you cannot handle stress well, you’d better ask a doctor for help, discuss
your problem with him. Don’t wait until things get worse.
Now, let’s imagine that you’re a housewife again, you’ve already gotten up late,
don’t let yourself be slaved to the trivia of life, take a deep breath and start figuring out what’s your priorities. Try some tips that I gave to you. It’s my
