Whats stress? Stress is a word that we heard a lot nowadays, when we are exhausted or fretful, we may say, I am stressed. But, what exactly is stress?

Stress is a feeling when we have to face some unusual events or to handle more than we used to. Its good to have a little stress in our daily life, because it can motivate us to work hard. But stress overload will be another one. For example, stressing out too much about a test can make you distracted from your study.

You may wonder that what kind of problems will stress lead to, yet before we move on to that part, wed better find out the causes of stress first. There are some common causes of stress: boring or lonely work, Excessive or impossible demands, Barriers that prevent you from reaching your goals, family problems, financial matters, interpersonal relationship troubles, small daily hassles, illnesses, even overcrowding could be the source of your stress.

While stress is not considered as an illness, it cause a variety of physical sicknesses such as headaches, an upset stomach, back pain, high blood pressure, indigestion, insomnia, and heart disease. It can weaken your immune system, making it harder to fight off disease. If you already have a health problem, stress make it worse. Whats more, stress can cause the same

symptoms as those caused by depression and anxiety. It seems live with stress does more harm than good.

Good news is that you can learn to overcome your stress problems. First of all, take out a piece of paper, write down the things that make you stressed out and your thoughts about it. So that you can figure out your stressors, and control it better. Here comes the way:

; Make a list of priorities. Think about which things are most important,

and do them first. If you're feeling overloaded, consider canceling an

activity or two. So that you can have a breathing space.

; Be realistic and do not pretend to be strong. No one is perfect. Dont

make too great demands on yourself and others, it can add to your stress.

If you have any problem, go ask for help.

; Live a regular healthy life. Early to bed and early to rise. Enough sleep

keep your body and mind at your best, making you better equipped to deal

with any negative stressors. Eat well at regular hours. Make sure your

body has enough energy to run. Dont smoke. Limit how much alcohol you

drink. Although these things relieve the stress temporarily, actually they

promote more stress. Because they undermine your body’s ability to

    recover.

; Try to think different ways. Your attitude and thoughts influence the way

you see things. When you find yourself starting to worry, stop that thoughts,

try to think another way. If therere something you cannot change, let it go.

Sometimes, it benefits to give up.

; Do something to relax your body. Such as massage, spa, yoga, tai chi,

or just take a deep breath. Besides, both cultivating a new hobby and do

some volunteer works can be a great stress reliever.

; Let your feelings out. Laugh or cry, both is ok. You can find someone you

trust and talk to them about your problems. For my part, I usually get a

bottle, filling it with water. Then, speak out my troubles. After that, I pour

the water. In this way, I do release my stress. You can try it.

If still you cannot handle stress well, youd better ask a doctor for help, discuss

your problem with him. Dont wait until things get worse.

Now, let’s imagine that you’re a housewife again, youve already gotten up late,

dont let yourself be slaved to the trivia of life, take a deep breath and start figuring out whats your priorities. Try some tips that I gave to you. Its my

honor if you take my advice to heart and do as I suggested.
