Approval of Minutes:

Motion 1 MSC Levy, Nebelsick-Tagg: Faculty Senate approval of the minutes of December 3,

2007, as amended. The motion carried.

Public Comments: There were none.

Announcements: Marilee Nebelsick-Tagg announced that for a second year the Nursing department has

been unable to fill faculty positions to teach in the weekend/evening Nursing program. As

a consequence, the department temporarily has put on hold the weekend/evening program

and will not be admitting students into the first semester as initially planned. Current

students entering the third semester will be incorporated into the existing day program.

Julie Ivey distributed copies of PFF Action Alert bulletins notifying faculty members of

the district’s recent decision to place a consultant as Acting Vice President of Human

Resources while the current Vice President is on leave. The decision took place outside

the avenues of shared governance, without participation from the faculty, staff, or the

Governing Board. The PFF is asking faculty to attend the Tuesday, December 11,

Governing Board meeting to express the need for communication, collaboration, and

faculty and staff inclusion in the shared governance process.

ASG: Paul Barboa reported that the ASG members passed a resolution in support of Proposition

92 at their meeting last week.
