Objective

NEW - Draft The objective of this demo is to feature PLM to demonstrate a Design to Production Business Flow for Aerospace and Defense. The flow will demonstrate how PLM can be used for executing and managing Product Development Activities in A&D. The flow will track the progression of two new products A next generation combat vehicle and a next

generation combat aircraft, being built to customer requirements, along their lifecycle. The flow will demonstrate how PLM is used to - Collaboratively analyze and detail Customer Requirements - Collaboratively design and detail the Items based on the requirements and specifications - Capture all item information with the use of User defined attributes - Manage Product Lifecycle with integration with Oracle Projects

    What's New?

This script has not been through the internal ADS review process. Make sure to review the script prior to the demo. If you find problems with the script please contact the script author. The PLM Content for A&D has been newly built out in 11510 R2. The flow features the execution of a Design to Production Cycle typical to New Product Development in the A&D Industry. The flow is also applicable to new product introduction and development processes in Industrial Manufacturing sectors.

The flow features the Product Workbench. The Product Workbench is the new feature launched with the 11510 R2 release that permits an intuitive and graphical BOM Designing. Oracle Product Workbench allows you to manage product information including product structures/bills of material, components, attributes and documents. Oracle Product workbench provides vastly improved performance and usability features like drag & drop, redlining/markup with a familiar Microsoft? Windows interface.

Document potential pitfalls using instructor text. Try to put most of the pitfalls within the actual text of the Kernels. For example: a bug, gotcha, or common user error, per specific task. Use this section sparingly.

Assumptions

Complete only if the combination of documents assembled herein requires unique setup, in addition to that documented in the navigation documents. For example: Item Attributes, System Profile Options.

Create and update Lifecycle Tracking Project

Create and update Lifecycle Tracking Project We have pre-seeded the lifecycle tracking project for this demo flow. You may however

choose to create your own lifecycle project for the customer demo. You may also want to

create a new lifecycle project, if you have already used the pre-seeded projects for a

    previous demo.

The Projects we have pre-seeded for this demo flow are

    ; Combat Vehicle

    ; Project Number : N12002-04-R-M300

; Project Name : Adv Combat Vehicle, US Marine

    ; Combat Aircraft

    ; Project Number : N10050-05-R-M210

; Project Name : Adv Combat Aircraft, US Marine In case you to create your own project for the demo you will need to use it in place of the

above pre-seeded project all through the flow illustrated in this demo doc.
