Welcome to Our Rights, Our Future

The Greater Montréal Chapter of the Alliance for Equality of Blind Canadians welcomes you to Montréal for the 2010 national conference and annual general meeting. The planning committee has been working tirelessly since the summer of 2009 to bring to you a program that, we hope, is as engaging as it is informative. We trust that you will enjoy your stay here in Montréal, but if you encounter any difficulties or need more information about the city, please do not hesitate to ask one of the conference committee members or other volunteers for assistance.

For more information on the conference, or to try locating Anthony Tibbs, President, Greater Montréal Chapter during the conference, dial the following number (from a pay phone if it comes to that):

    1-877-372-6599

Otherwise, welcome to our fine city. We hope that you will enjoy the conference and your stay, and that you will have an opportunity before or after the conference programming to enjoy some of our great local offerings.

    With our warmest regards,

    The Greater Montréal Chapter

    Registration

The registration fee for the conference this year is $50.00,

payable upon arrival and check-in at the conference itself on Friday night (4pm-9:15pm) or Saturday morning (8:00am-9:30am).

Your registration includes the Friday night reception, breakfast and breaks on Saturday and Sunday, and lunch on Saturday (see p. 16 for details). It does not include hotel

accommodation costs or incidentals, transportation costs, or meals outside of those already described. On Saturday evening, the Montréal chapter will likely arrange for a group booking at a local restaurant for those interested, but you will be responsible for your own bill.

Registration fees may be paid by cash, cheque, money order, or credit card (Visa/MasterCard) as you see fit. If you would like to pay in advance of arrival (e.g. by PayPal, Interac e-mail money transfer, or credit card), please contact Anthony Tibbs (conference2010@blindcanadians.ca) or call us at 1-877-372-

    6599 to make these arrangements.

    Registration deadline: May 10, 2010

Hotel room booking deadline: April 22, 2010

The conference registration form is distributed as a separate

    document outside of this handbook.
