Introduction

    In this manual, it is explained how to use new functions of VG-849C/VG-859C, those are attached for compliance with the specification of HDMI Ver.1,3. The further details of them shall be referred in the proper

    instruction manual that will be released separately later.

How to operate

    !,Setting of HDMI Deep Color

    !,! Changing of Output Bit Mode

    In this menu, the bit value to draw the pattern is selected. - Select [FUNC 5], move to the following sub menu and select the item for proper setting.

    Cfg:Bits Output Mode:

    MULTI BIT 0/1

Key LCD indication Description

    0 8BIT Drawing the pattern with 8 bit *1

    1 Multi BIT Drawing the pattern with the bit rate according to the Video Format

     (* refer to 1.2)

    *1 : If Video Format is set at 10 or 12 bit, the bit-extended data out of 8 bit- drawing pattern will be

    output.

!,, Changing of Video Format

    In this menu, HDMI output format is to be set. 2

    - Select [FUNC2] or [FUNC3], move to the sub menu HDMI Data Edit , and call up the following display by INC/DEC button, then select the desirous item under Video Format sign.

    HDMI Mode :HDMI1.0 (0-4)

    VideoFormat :RGB_24 (0-8)

    0 RGB_24 Output with RGB24bit (8bit)

    1 RGB_30 Output with RGB30bit (10bit)

    2 RGB_36 Output with RGB36bit (12bit)

    3 Y444_24 Output with YCbCr4:4:4 24bit (8 bit)

    4 Y444_30 Output with YCbCr4:4:4 30bit (10bit)

    5 Y444_36 Output with YCbCr4:4:4 36bit (12bit)

    6 Y422_16 Output with YCbCr4:2:2 16bit (8bit)

    7 Y422_20 Output with YCbCr4:2:2 20bit (10bit)

    8 Y422_24 Output with YCbCr4:2:2 24bit (12bit)

    2 : Except HDMI, Output is fixed at 8bit.

,,Changing of InfoFrame setting

    Because of supporting HDMI ver.1.3 specification, the followings are added and changed.

    ?Some item of AVI InfoFrame Colorimetry are added.

    ?AVI InfoFrame RGB Quantization Range is added.

    ?AVI InfoFrame Extended Colorimetry is added.

    ?AVI InfoFrame IT content is added.

    ?Some item of Audio InfoFrame Audio Coding Type are added.

    - Select [FUNC2]or [FUNC3], move to the sub menu InfoFrame Data Edit, then call up following display by

    INC/DEC button, and select the desirous key under Colorimetry sign. Scaling :unknown (0-3)

    Colorimetry : Extend (0-3)

Key LCD indication Description

    0 No Data No setting of Colorimetry

    1 SMPTE Set Colorimetry to SMPTE

    2 ITU709 Set Colorimetry to ITU709

    3 Extend Set Colorimetry to Extend Colorimetry Information Valid (ex: xvYCC)

    0 Default Set RGB Quantization Range to Default

    1 Limited Set RGB Quantization Range to Limited (ex: for TV)

    2 Full Set RGB Quantization Range to Full (ex: for IT content)

    display by INC/DEC button, and select the desirous item under ExtColor sign.
