    ZPMCadoptssupercapacitor(themaximumofeachis100,000farads)asanenergystoringdevicetobeinsertedintotheelectriccircuit.Thehugeenergycanbestoredandreleasedinstantaneously,andthepeakvaluepowercanbecompensated.Thediesel

    engineandgeneratorsetcanbeensuredtooperateunderstablecondition.TheGreenRTGcansuccessfullyprotecttheenvironment.

    InordertoensureRTG

    sstraighttraveling,ZPMChasdevelopedGPSonRTG.Itsfeaturesarelistedasfollows:1

    sgantryauto-steeringcanbeachieved,andoperators

    ContainerpositionmanagementatyardcanbecarriedoutbyGPSpositioningandremoteinformationtransferringtechnology.Theaccuracyofcontainerpositioninginformationatyardcanbeimproved.3

    ThegantrytravelingspeedcanbeincreasedbymeansofGPS.TheRTGcantravelatfullspeedatfully-loadedyardwithnoworryabouthittingwithcontainers.Thus,theproductivityisincreased.

    BiAnti3.Bi-directional(8Ropes)NewAnti-swayTechnology

    Thetraditionalhoistingreevingsystemischangedtofourcompletelyidenticalreversetrianglesystemstoincreasetherigidityofhangingsystembyusingthegeometryprincipleoftrianglestability.Theanti-swayfunctioncanbeaccomplishedbythespreader,andthespreader(alsothecontainer)stopsafterthetrolleystartsorbrakes.TheadvantagesofRTGwithbi-directionalanti-wayfunctionareasfollows:

    Whenthecontaineris1.5mabovethegroundandthetrolleyorgantrystopsatfullspeed,themaximumswayingdistanceisnotbiggerthan50mm.Buttheanti-swaymechanismonthetraditionalRTGcanhavesuchresultafterswayingfor10seconds.2Thespreader

    smovementbackandforth,rightandleft,andskewfunctioncanbecarriedoutthroughthespecialdeviceinstalledontheheadblock.Thisgreatlyreducestheoperatorspositioningtime.3

    Becausethespreadercanstopassoonasthetrolley(organtry)stops,thesemi-automationandfull-automationcanbeaccomplishedonRTG.4

    ComparedwiththetraditionRTGthatisprovidedwithnormalmechanicalsway-dampeningmechanism,becausetheRTGwithbi-directionalanti-swayfunctionisnotequippedwithelectricthruster,single-directionalbearing,torquemotorandblower,itcanavoidthehighfaultratehappenedonthetraditionalRTGthatisequippedwithmoremechanicalandelectricparts.Boththedailymaintenanceandrepairingcostsaregreatlyreduced,andthemanpowercostandtheothercostsincludingworkandvesseldelaysarealsogreatlyreduced.

    4.RTGWithNoGantryChainDrive

    ThegantrydriveonthecurrentRTGintheworldnormallyadoptsmotor,gearreducer,andopentypechaindrive.BecauseoftheincrementofRTG

    sweightandhugeinertiacausedbyabruptbraking,thedrivingchainsareeasilybroken,andtheservicelifeisshortened.ZPMCdevelopedakindofRTGwithfullygeardriving,thatis,thedirectdrivingofthegearreducerisadopted,andthetraditionaldrivingchainsaredeleted.Thefaultrateofthegantrydrivingisgreatlyreduced,andlessgantrydrivingmaintenanceandhighefficiencycanbeensured.

    5~GantryTurningJackingDevice

    RTGhasfrequentlygantryturning.Duringthegantryturning,thetyresalsoneedtorotate90.Whenthetyresareturningattheirfixedpositions,notonlythetyresurfaceabrasionwillbeincreasedgreatlyunderthebigwheelload(normallybiggerthan25T),butalsothebigstressonthetyreinnersealantandcordfabricwillbebrought.Thus,thetyreservicelifeisshortened.Inordertoextendthetyreservicelife,ZPMCdevelopedgantryturninghydraulicjackingdevice.Whenthegantryisturning,thejackingdevicewillautomaticallyjackupthewholeRTG.Thetyreabrasionisthenreduced,andtheservicelifeisextended(byestimationatleastonetimeofservicelifeisextended).

    6.GantryWheelBrake

    ThetraditionalRTG

    sgantrybrakeisinstalledonthegantrydrivingmotorshaft.Whenanemergency-stopoccurs,thebigforcewillbehappenedonthewholedrivingsystem(thisisthemainreasonofthechainbreakage).ZPMCemulatedautomobileandinstalledwheelbrakesonRTG.WhentheRTGisbraking,thewheelbrakeconsumesthemajorityoftheenergy,andthenthehighspeedshaftbrakesagain.Thewholegantrydrivingsystemhasmuchlowerimpact,andtheservicelifecanbeextended. RTG7.RTGsTyreAutomaticPressureMeasuringDevice

    Theinsufficienttyrepressureisoneoftheproblemsthatcausesthetyre

    slowservicelife.ZPMCstudiedandfoundthatthemajorityofcurrentlyoperatingRTGswereexistinginsufficienttyrepressure.Itisinconvenienttocheckthetyrepressure.Therefore,ZPMCdevelopedasetoftyreautomaticpressuremeasuringalarmdevicetoremindoperatorsatanytimewhenanytyrehasinsufficientpressureinordertoavoidthetyrerunningwithinsufficientpressure.TheaccidentcausedbytyredamagewhileRTGisoperatingcanalsobeavoided. 8~Double20ftRTG

    ThemajorityofRTGsintheworldatpresenthaveliftingcapacityof40Tasonlyone20ftor40ftcontainerishoisted.However,thequaysidecontainercranecanhoisttwo20ftcontainersatonetime,theoperationofcontainercraneandRTGcannotmatcheachother,andthehandlingefficiencyisseriouslyaffected.In2002,ZPMCdevelopedthedouble20ftRTGwhichcanhoisttwo20ftcontainerswithliftingcapacityof60T.Aftertrialoperationfor2years,theperformanceisgood,andtheyardhandlingefficiencyisincreased.

    9.RTGWithHighHoistingHeightandEquippedwithElevator

    AsforsuchRTGwithstackingheightof7containersandthehoistingheightof24m,onesmallelevatorwillbeequippedtoreduceoperators

    fatigueandensuresafety.Suchsmallelevatorcanonlyholdtwopersons,andisprovidedwithreliablesafetydevice.

    10.RTGwith16Wheels

    AlongwithcontinuousincreaseofRTGshoistingcapacityandhoistingheight,theRTG

    swheelloadiskeepingbigger(themaximumwheelloadforACTprojectinHongKongis50T).ZPMCdeveloped16wheelRTGwith8drivingwheelsand4drivingwheelsrespectively.The16wheelRTGhasbroadenedtheapplicationsofRTGwith

    highhoistingheightandhandlingoftwocontainers(60T).Thus,theterminalproductivityandutilizationoftheyardcanbeincreased.
