Canadian North Seriously Northern Celebration

    Come out to the airport and help Canadian North celebrate their seriously Northern tour. Come out to the airport and check out the new planes and their new cargo capabilities and the new Canadian north colours and logo.

    Need a ride to the airport? Meet outside the Luke Novoligak Community Hall. Rides will be provided.

    Those who can join the Canadian North crew at the airport will have the chance to win a brand new ATV.

    The party will move to the Luke Novoligak Community all at 8:00pm. Community Games and prizes will be given away for the evening so make sure to come out and join the fun. Do you have relatives within the Kitikmeot Region? Canadian north will also be raffling off two tickets for anywhere in their new northern route.

    Come out and join in as the community celebrates the Opening Ceremonies of the annual Omingmak Frolics.

    Don’t miss this exciting gathering as the contestants of the 2007 Omingmak Frolics Fright Factor challenge will be selected.

    This ear’s Opening Ceremonies will include the annual parade and Cadets exercise. The

    King & Queen and Prince and Princess appointments will be made. Make sure to come out and cheer for contestants.

    And finally, the 2007 Omingmak Frolics Fright Factor contestants will be drawn at this time. BE sure to be here if you have brought tickets from the Prince and Princess contestants.

Community Scavenger Hunt

Meet n front of the Kiilinik High School.

    Do you have a sharp eye and can easily find off items? If so the Community Scavenger Hunt is for you!

    All ages are welcome to come out and participate in this year Community Scavenger hunt. Sign up in teams or search on your own.

    Lists will be handed out at 4:00pm sharp and the clock will start ticking! Contestants will have 1 hour to collect the items on the list. The person with the most items collected at the end of the hour will win.

2007 Omingmak Frolics Fright Factor

    Fright Factor has returned to Cambridge Bay in this years Omingmak Frolics! Would you like a chance to win $5,000? Do you thing you’re amoung Cambridge Bay’s bravest?

    If so, then Fright Factor is for you.

    There will be only 6 spots available, 3 male and 3 female. Contestants will be drawn form the tickets being sold by Prince & Princess contestants. The more you purchase, the better chance you have of winning.

    Not really into competing? Come out and support your favourite contestants as they test their bravery in completing their tasks,

    Challengers will begin @ 7:00pm, so make sure to arrive early to assure your seat. Fright Factor will be held at the community Hall, with the community Games to follow at the Kiilinik High School.

    The evening’s entertainment will include a hypnotist show as well as a comedy show.

    This evening is open only to adults. Admission provides dinner, sparkling beverages and dessert followed by love entertainment surely to be enjoyed by all.

    Tickets can be purchased from the Recreation Services committee for $50.00 per ticket.

Ski-Joring Demonstration

    11:00am

Bay Road in front of the Old Northern Store

    C’mon down to catch a demonstration of ski-joring put on by Carolanne.

    Ski-joring is when you strap on a pair of cross country skis, strap a harness onto your

    dog, attach yourself to the dog, and get your dog to pull you along, while on your skis!

    If you have a friendly dog that you can control, and you can’t to try this sport, bring your

    dog down and Carolanne will help you and your dog out! Dog harness and skis will be

    provided.

    If you want to do this you will be required to sign a waiver form.

Closing Ceremonies

    6:00pm

    Please bring your own utensils, ulus and plates.

    The Community is invited to come out and celebrate the end of this year’s Omingmak.

    Frolics.

    Dinner will begin at 6:00pm followed by the Closing Ceremonies and Ski-do Race

    Trophies.
