On behalf of the club we wish you all a very happy Easter and holiday time. We hope that all children will
use this time to practice their hurling and football skills as there is a busy match schedule after Easter.
The club is delighted to announce that it has recently set up an official web site. The website is updated
regularly with all the latest news, fixtures, results and information on the club. It can be visited on With the growth of the club, we have arranged for official club tracksuit, hoodies, jerseys etc for purchase.
Details and order forms will be distributed shortly.
The club also wishes a speedy recovery to Paul Kennedy after his recent operation. We hope to see him
back on the training pitch shortly.
The membership closing date has now passed however if you still have not returned your membership form,
you must do so without delay.

Three of our harpists, Lisa Callinan, Laura Flannery and Gemma O’Conner played Boru’s March and The
South Wind at Castleconnell mass. Well done girls. Harp classes take place in Ahane N.S. every Monday afternool.

Well done to 6th Class on their Lenten fundraising effort for a school building project in Nicaragua.
Congratulations to John Hourigan, Cathal Ryan, William Shanahan, Brian O'Keeffee, Ryan McCauley and
Dan Morrissey on their inclusion on the East Primary School Hurling panel. The Mackey Cup is scheduled
for the first week of May and we wish everyone success.
Congratulations to the Lisnagry INTO 7 a side hurling team who won the East and will now go on to contest
the finals against winners from City and West divisions. The panel was George Egliston, Evan Fanning, Brian
O'Keeffee (capt), William Shanahan, Ryan McCauley, Paudie Callinan, John Fox, Joe Cannon and Tom
Well done to Niamh Keegan who reached the National Finals of the Youth Federation’s Variety Show
Competition in Maynooth in March. Niamh took part in the Spotlight Category and although unsuccessful
on the day it was a great achievement to reach the Final.
The Members and Leaders took part in the very successful St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Castleconnell last stmonth and on Friday 31 March a group of 36 young people and 4 leaders from Martinstown Youth Club
paid us a visit for games, chat etc. and a very enjoyable, if noisy, night was had by all.
Best of luck to our U 18 Soccer team who have qualified for the Regional Finals of the Youth Club Games to rdbe held on Sunday 23 April. The team is Darragh Connolly, Padraig O’Connor, Cormac Joyce-Power, Jason Coughlan, David Carey and Jamie McGuire.

rdthThis years VHI sponsored Hurling & Football summer Camp will be held from Monday 3 July to Friday 7 July from 10.00am to 2.30pm each day. This camp will cater for primary school children aged from 7 – 13 years. Coaching will be provided by fully qualified G.A.A. coaches and will be fully supervised at all times. PARENT PLEASE NOTE: Children must be collected each day at 2.30pm as supervision will not be
provided beyond this time.
Irrespective of sporting skills or ability, at VHI Cul Camps, children are encouraged to:
- Hone their sporting skills through participation in Gaelic Games.
- Learn new ideas and meet new people.
- Develop a keen sense of fair play and personal achievement.
- Stay active and healthy
- Have fun
