CITY UNIVERSITY LONDON STUDENTS UNION

    CITY UNIVERSITY LONDON STUDENTS’ UNION

    STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES 2009-2010

Mission statement:

“For students, by students, enhancing the student experience”

We are a membership led organisation empowering students through training, creating opportunities to develop their skills and

    enhance their student experience

Our goals are:

    - To enable students to participate in local and national representation

    - To help members support each other, even in matters of dispute with the University

    - To help members get the most out of their time at City University London

2009-2010 will be a year of transformation for City University London Students’ Union. This strategy provides a roadmap to convert the theory of a student led peer support organisation into a vibrant community of City University London

students that deliver services which support each other.

Our 2009 2010 strategic objectives are based on four C’s

? Capturing raising awareness and educating our membership on what a Students’ Union is; why it is of value to

them and how they are of value to the Union

? Cultivating providing training and development support for all our student activists

? Capitalizing providing structured opportunities for our student activists to run a peer support advocacy centre,

produce a newspaper and website, host charity fundraisers, train and compete against other universities, follow

their interests or express their culture in a safe and respectful environment

? Celebrating rewarding and recognizing the contribution that student activists make to the student experience

and the diverse University community through a Students’ Union awards program

We will deliver on these objectives through a series of strategic projects. Our project design will promote a lifecycle

approach to engaging, empowering, supporting and rewarding our student activists. We will create an environment in

which student leaders can thrive and steer the political direction of the organization.
