    Synopsis:

On November 1, 2007 at approximately 12:30 a.m., Russell Martin Cholewa, of 1216

Somerset Rd., Severn was traveling North on Generals Highway while operating a white 1996

Honda two-door. Mr. Cholewa failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway on Generals

Highway at the intersection with Veterans Highway. Mr. Cholewa lost control of the Honda he

was operating and slid off of the roadway before striking a sign and two large rocks that were

positioned on either sides of the entrance to Robert F. Beal and Sons located at 8795 Veterans

Highway. After striking the second large landscaping rock the Honda overturned and came to

rest on it’s roof. As a result of this crash Mr. Cholewa sustained life threatening injuries and

was subsequently transported by Maryland State Police Helicopter to the Shock Trauma Unit at

the University of Maryland Hospital. At the time of this press release Mr. Cholewa was in

critical but stable condition. It appears that excessive speed contributed to this crash and there

was indication that alcohol may have been a factor as well. This investigation is continuing.
