    2009 Dancentre BAYSIDE CONCERT

    Saturday 5 December 2009

BMW Edge Theatre, Federation Square Melbourne

    www.federationsquare.com.au

Concert preparations are in full swing. All the dances have been started and we’ve been in contact with

costume suppliers. We’ve got nearly everyone’s measurements and we’re just about good to go.

Parking: A multi-level car park is accessible from Russell Street or Batman Ave

(Exhibition Street extension - City Link) Weekend rate: $8.00 for 8:00 am to

    midnight.

Other commercial parking is across the road in Flinders Street.

Public Transport: Train to Flinders St Station, or tram to corner of Flinders & Swanston Streets.

Extras: @ Federation Square there is an outdoor stage, shops, cafes, restaurants,

Ian Potter Centre (art gallery) and the Australian Centre for the Moving Image.

This year we’re planning 3 performances. Last year we nearly didn’t fit everyone in, so we’re forecasting a VERY big day that will need to run like clockwork; hopefully allowing us to get home

    before midnight!

The BMW Edge Theatre was a hit last year. I’ve never had so many encouraging comments about a venue. However we did come a bit unstuck during check-out time and will try to rectify the situation

    this year.

We’ve made a thorough attempt to place siblings in the same performance, but apologise that we

haven’t been able to accommodate all families.

In order to create a balanced program we’ve also scheduled some classes to dance in more than one performance.

There will be a discount on tickets for families who want to watch their children in more than one

performance. However may I suggest that you choose to watch your child’s final performance, as it will be more polished, and perhaps help out during the other performances?

No matter how many helpers we have, we seem to need more. If you can assist on the day we’d love

you to be involved... No experience necessary, BUT we need to know well in advance so we can plan

    properly. Email dance@dancentre.com.au

Photos...

SUNDAY 22 NOVEMBER, STUDIO 1 BRIGHTON

Photo day is usually the first time students get to try on their costumes it’s quite exciting and we’re

keen to have as many students as possible participate in photos. The class shots are will be displayed in

    Studio 1 Brighton throughout 2010.

All students have individual portraits taken in costume without any obligation to purchase. Portraits are

distributed during the final class for 2009, group shots can be viewed online. Orders are placed directly

    with the photographer.

Allocated dressers only are permitted to assist the students. If you can offer a few hours of your time on

photo day to help dress the students we’d love to hear from you.

Parents of preschooler students are requested to stay with their children but are not permitted to assist

the photographer in any way. Otherwise parents are asked to drop their children off and pick them

up again at allocated times (TBA).

No Happy Snaps on the day, thanks.
