Installing SQL Server 2000 Enterprise in a two node Cluster, Active/Passive;主/

This lab is designed to demonstrate the cluster capability of SQL 2000 Enterprise edition, using IBM xSeries servers

Understand the setup process of SQL 2000 Server in a two node Cluster. In this lab we will set up an Active/Passive environment with a single virtual SQL server running the database. In normal operation the virtual SQL server will run on one node, and in the case of a node failure the virtual server will failover to the remaining node and the database will be running on the other node.

    Materials Required

; Functioning 2 node Windows 2000 Advanced Server cluster;高级服务器集群软件; and

a shared disk resource available (in addition to the quorum disk) In this lab we use Disk

W:, you may have a different drive letter used, in which case change the appropriate

instructions to match your drive letter.

    ; SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition;企业版;

1Ensure that the Cluster is configured and working.

2The set-up for the cluster is:

The Quorum resource is on Drive Q:. SQL Data will be stored on W:;磁盘阵列逻辑

盘;. Ensure that the disk resources can failover;故障切换; successfully.

3On each node, open a Command Prompt and run the comclust command.

This creates an MSDTC resource (Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator分布

事务处理协调器) in the Cluster Group of your Cluster. 4Create a new group called SQL Group. Move the Disk resource (W: ) into the SQL group.

Make sure you are performing the following steps on the node that owns the SQL

    Group.;确保该节点;你将在节点计算机上要进行以下;拥有SQL Group

5Start the SQL Server 2000 Setup program.

6At the Computer Name screen, create a Virtual Server called SQLSRV.(虚拟数据库服务器

名称?要唯一?Ask the Instructor for a unique name)

     7Press .

8Accept the Name and Company at the User Information screen. Press .

9Accept the License Agreement.

10On the Failover Clustering window, create a Virtual IP;虚拟IP地址; address for the

Virtual Server. Use a value provided by your instructor, it must be a unique address

    on the public network;在双网卡系统中?该虚拟IP地址要设为公共网段?不要与双机互

    通的网卡设为同一网段;. Press .

11Click , do not create a Virtual IP address on the internal heartbeat network.

12On the Cluster Disk selection screen, select drive W: (the disk that you previously

moved into the SQL Group) as the disk on which to place the data files. Press

13Make sure both nodes are listed as Configured Nodes on the Cluster Management

    window and select .

14When prompted for user name on the Remote Information window, make sure you

enter the domain name in the domain field and not the local machine name. Press

15In the Instance Name window leave the Default installation checked. Press .

16In the Setup Type screen ensure that Program Files are being installed on C:\Program

Files\Microsoft SQL Server and data files on W:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL

Server. Leave the option selected. Click .

17On the Services Accounts screen ensure that the Domain and not the node name is

entered in the Domain field. Click .

18At the Authentication Mode window, ensure that is

    selected and click .

19Click to start copying files.

On the Choose Licensing Mode screen select Per Seat for 20 devices. Click

20Setup will now perform required operations on the cluster nodes. SQL Server will be

installed on the local drives of both nodes;分别在两个节点计算机的本地硬盘上同时安

装;, and several Cluster Resources will be created in the SQL Group.

21Start Cluster Administrator and notice the Resources that have been created in the SQL

Group. If any resources in the group are not online at this stage, bring them online
