    My duty: (Multi-) Project Manger Industry: pharmaceutical

Te purpose of the project is to develop a platform to run clinical trials. The platform is based on

    Microsoft .NET.

    The development of the new platform is within a program consisting of three separate projects

     (Client, server and designer).

    ? Project 1 (Client): is a construction kit to run clinical trials. The project has started the third

    time and employs 13 team members currently, >2,5 M? Budget

    ? Project 2 (Designer): is a graphical user interface to create clinical trials currently running in

    requirements engineering phase, 1,5 M? Budget

    ? Project 3 (Server): is an intelligent backup to process saved data.

My responsibility is to lead project 1 and project 2. Additionally it was my responsibility to define and

    implement necessary processes for software development e.g. requirements engineering, development,

    test und project- und product lifecycle.

The projects/program was implemented within a CRM multiprogram scenario consisting of 5 large

    programs containing at least 5 project each. The whole hardware and a technology shift (updating each

    product to the latest version) for all programs was successfully executed under my lead.

Project 1: Migration of the Databases and batches to JAP 4.1 of a very big CRM Platform

    within Private Banking Department

The target of the project was to migrate all databases (Oracle 9i to Oracle RAC 10g) and all batches to

    a new platform (JAP 4.1) based on Solaris 10. Additionally the whole infrastructure was replaced with

    new hardware (ca. 20 * Sun T2000 und 8 * SF 6900). Additionally the scope of the project included

    all necessary customizations (Java, BCP, Security and using new Features) and the coordination of

    affected departments (e.g. Host and DWH).

    The project team consisted of 20+ resources and had a budget of 2+ MCHF for resources and 6

    MCHF for Hardware. The project was successfully completed in April 2008.

Project 2: Migration of the application layer to JAP 4.1 of a very big CRM Platform within

    Private Banking Department

The target of the project (complement to Project 1) was to migrate all applications to a new Java based

    platform (JAP 4.1). Additionally all servers have been exchanged with new hardware (ca. 80 * Sun

    T2000). The scope of the project included all necessary customizations (Development process, to

    make use of the new Java 1.5 and J2EE 1.4 features) and the coordination of other affected groups e.g.

    offshore developers and other departments.

    The project team consisted of 20+ resources and had a budget of 3+ MCHF for resources and 2

    MCHF for Hardware. The project was successfully completed in April 2008.

    The main goal was to develop a new software for the three main manufacture locations for trucks

    (Germany, Japan and USA) to meet documentation requirements and processes for all locations and to

    be able to make use of synergy’s.

The goal of this project was to develop a new web platform for credit risk management.

    There have been 28 members working on the project (including 1 director, 4 team leader, 20

    developers and 2 designers) and had a Budget of 6M?. The main part was developed onsite. Some

    base components haven been developed offshore in Rumania.

    The project was managed using MS Project and MS Office based on IPMA and the V-Model.

    Due to the given startup situation within the company it was necessary to define processes for software

    development, e.g. requirements engineering, design, architecture, development, test.

    team had to be developed to watch the internal state of customer orders.

    After initial problems in the team it was my responsibility to coordinate the development to make sure

    the first release is going to finished in time.

A big automotive company needed new software for their logistical center. The old host application

    was not up to date anymore. The new application was developed with Java/J2EE using IBM

    WebSphere Application Server and a DB2 database with Toplink as OR mapping tool. The client was

    developed with Swing.
