    2. Introduction

    2.1 Purpose

    This specification document is provided by Dell Industrial Design to define the level of cosmetic quality required by the product design. This portion of the document defines cosmetic quality standards for the Bondi chassis.

2.2 Scope

    The overall document will provide Dell employees and vendors with specific cosmetic metrics and cite relevant Dell cosmetic standards to aid in manufacturing and inspecting products and product parts.

2.4 Definitions

    Definitions of terms (i.e. surface classes) and inspection criteria are contained in Dell’s Corporate Cosmetic

    3. Product Diagram and Summary

    General Guidelines: The Inspector performing a finished product examination should view the product as a

    complete entity, watching for consistency in color, texture, gloss, fit and finish. Individual parts should be

    examined for compliance with that part’s mechanical design and for adherence to cosmetic specifications that

    may apply. There should be no evidence of fingerprints from handling. All surfaces must be clean.
