    Safety Notice

    Please read the operating instruction completely before you proceed with installing and operating LMCARM control board. If there are any questions regarding the contents of this manual, please contact BJJCZ.

    1. Steps For Safe Operation

    ; Please observe all laser safety instructions about laserinclude but not only include

    laser module manual, scan head and this manual

    ; Always turn on the power of LMCARM and the power supply for the scan

    head first before turning on the laser. Otherwise there is the danger of

    uncontrolled deflection of the laser beam.

    We recommend the use of a shutter to prevent uncontrolled emission of laser

    radiation.

    2. Safety should be responsible by users

    ; This product is intended for controlling a laser scan system. Therefore all relevant

    laser safety directives must be known and applied before installation and operation.

    The customer is solely responsible for ensuring the laser safety of the entire system.

    ; Safety regulation may differ from country to country. It is the responsibility of the

    customer to comply with all local regulations.

    ; Carefully check your application program before running it. Programming errors

    can cause a break down of the system. In this case neither the laser nor the scan

    head can be controlled.

    ; Protect the board from humidity, dust, corrosive vapors and mechanical stress.

    ; For storage and operation, avoid electromagnetic fields and static electricity. These

    can damage the electronics on the product. For storage, always use the antistatic

    bag.

    ; The allowed operating temperature range is 25? ? 10?.

    1 Summarize

    LMCARM marking control card is developed specially for laser marking machine, it could run separately and control the laser marking without PC. It can transport data with PC by net interface RJ45.

    1.1 Main features

    ; Run without PC.

    ; Digital interface for scanhead..

    ; Optional high level active or low level active for Laser signal.

    ; PWM signal is differentially drivenand can drive RF tube directly.

    ; Two axes control for XY Table driven by step motor or servomotor

    ; Two analog outputs to control power/frequency separately.

    ; Supply rotary encoder and photoelectric switch interface, to measure pipeline speed in real time,

    and make sure the mark quality in high speed.

    ; Start signal: used in the case of high speed marking and unchanged marking content. ; Digit IO: 10 inputs and 12 outputs.

2 Electrical Connections

    2.1 Definition of connectors

2.1.1 Power

    A 5V/3A DC power supply is recommended for the Control board. The pin2/9/11/12 on CON3 is used for power connection.

CON3 pins Signal name Comments

    VCC +5V, the positive polarity power supply 11 12

    GND Ground, the negative polarity power supply 29

2.1.2 CON1 DB25 Digital IO

    CON1 supply 8 bits of input signals and 12 bits of output signals.

    The input signals are divided into three groups. The first group is composed by DIN0——DIN3,

    which is connected to GND signal through a constant-open style switch; The second group is composed by DIN4 and DIN5, which share the return line INGNDThe third group includes

    DIN6-DIN7 which share the return line INGND1. Please reference the Hardware Connection.

    The output signals are divided into two groups: OUT0- OUT7 and OUT8- OUT11. The first group is OC output, which can bear 250mA current / 30V. The second group is TTL output, the driver current is 10mA.

    Input signal 03. This signal and GND signal connect 4——7 DIN0——DIN3 to the two terminal of the switch(normal-open style). 16 INGND return line of DIN4/DIN5

    can bear 30V

    2.1.3 CON2 DB25 Scanhead

    Scanhead signal is digital signal that compatible with XY2-100 protocol, and can be wire directly

    to those digital scanheads which support XY2-100 protocol.

    112324 GND Control card reference ground.

    For the common two-axis scanhead, only CLK / SYNC / X / Y signal are need to wired. Twisted pair with shielded layer (like the commonly used internet cables) are recommended to use for connection.

    2.1.4 CON3 DB15 Power/laser/IO Socket

Pins Signal name Comments

    Start signal, which forms a return circuit with GND signal.

    To use this signal, just connect it and the GND signal 1 START respectively to either terminal of the switch. This is an

    input signal.

    Control card reference Ground, also the reference Ground 29 GND of control card’s 5V input power. This signal is the 14 reference Ground of all other signals of CON2 socket.

    Analog signal for laser power control, which range is

    3 DAPORT1 [0V~10V]. The maximum sink current is 5mA. The return

    line is GND signal.

    Direction signal of extend axis X (step motor or servo 4 XDIR motor). This signal should be used with VCC. This is an

    output signal.

    Pulse signal of extend axis X (step motor or servo motor). 5 XPUL This signal should be used with VCC. This is an output

    signal.

    Laser switch signal. TTL output. High-level active. 6 Lasero+ Reference ground signal is GND.

    First Pulse Killer signal. TTL output. Reference ground 7 QKILL signal is GND.

    Differential output. For CO2 laser, this signal is used to set

    laser power and also as output of Tickle signal; for Yag

    laser, this signal is used for driver Q as repeat frequency PWM+/PWM- 815 signal. In addition, PWM+ along with pin14 Ground can

    form a level active output; PWM+ along with pin25

    Ground can form a lower level active output.

    Analog signal for frequency control. Also it can be used as

    FPK signal. The voltage range is [0V~5V], and maximum

    current is 5mA. Whether this signal is used as frequency 10 DAPORT2

    control or as FPK is setup in the software. The return line

    is GND signal

    1112 VCC Anode of 5V input power supply. This is an input signal.

    Laser switch signal. TTL output. Low-level is available 13 Lasero- Reference ground signal is GND.

    2.1.5 CON4 DB25 Laser control interface

    CON4 socket is used for laser state feedback signal and RED POINTER signal.
