Oberstaufen has so much to offer, an amazing scenery, high class hotels asking moderate

    prices, lifestyle and flair with a choice of luxurious spa treatments to suit everyone’s needs. The

    “Schroth Cure” diet, offered by many hosts, is a naturopathic therapy which relieves and detoxicates the body with an anti-aging effect. This is enough to make you want to stay, but

    what makes Oberstaufen even more attractive and unique is its “Oberstaufen Plus Golf”

    programme.

There are 18 “Oberstaufen Plus Golf” establishments offering the chance for free golfing. This is

    applicable to three courses with a total of 60 holes; the Golf Centre Oberstaufen, the Golfpark

    Schlossgut Lenzfried and the 27 hole golf course in Waldegg-Wiggensbach, boasting the

    highest tee-off in Germany, at 1.011 meters. There are many more golf courses within an hours

    drive of each other, where the player receives a 30 percent reduction on green fees.

“Oberstaufen Plus Golf” is in addition to the “Oberstaufen Plus” programme, which is available

    from over 300 hotels and guest houses.This extraordinary offer enables the visitor to enjoy their

    holiday with many benefits. With the guest card the visitor obtains free use of the complete

    mountain transport system, making it possible to walk along the tracks of the famous

    Nagelfluhkette, declared as a Natural Preserve in 2008.

Other benefits include unlimited travel with the shuttle bus and use of the summer toboggan run

    and free parking. The visitor also becomes free access to the local outdoor summer swimming

    pool and indoor adventure swimming pool with sauna amenities the “Aquaria”. During a

    weeks stay a golfer can save up to an average of 300,- ?.

    A summary of the golf courses in and around Oberstaufen:

    Golf Centre Oberstaufen: The 18 hole golf course “Buflings” (par 68) and the adjoining 6- hole golf course “Zell” are only 1 km away from Oberstaufens’ town centre. The practice area, with driving range, is ideal to practice your swing. Here the golfer is spoilt for choice. The club house

    has a sunny terrace with a licensed restaurant, serving regional and international specialities.

    The golfers can relax and enjoy the excellent food, whilst taking in the spectacular scenery of

    the alpine mountain range, with clear views of the highest mountain the Hochgrat.

    To play the 18-hole course a handicap of 36 is required. The course at “Zell” which is a short

    course with a “pay & play” system has no handicap demands. Advanced booking of tee times

    isn’t essential.

    The green fee is 60,- ? for adults, 32,- ? for adolescents up to the age of 26. On the short

    course is a fee of 20,- ? and 10,- ?. Players holding the “Oberstaufen Plus Golf“ guest card pay no green fees.

    The Golf Coaching School, Oberstaufen, offers courses for beginners, private lessons or in a

    group. There is also a possiblity for intermediate or advanced players to polish up on their skills,

    receiving tips from the professionals.

Golfclub Waldegg-Wiggensbach: This 27 hole golf course (par 70/72) boasts the highest tee

    off in Germany, at 1.011 meters. Its tranquil setting, with rolling fairways and panoramic views,

    will make your round of golf memorable.

    A handicap of 54 is required and advanced bookings of tee times essential.

    The green fee for the 18 hole course is 50,- ?; on weekends 60,- ?. On the 9 hole course 30,- ?;

    on weekends 35,- ?. Adolescents pay 25,- ? or 30,- ?; on the small course 15,- ? or 20,- ?.

    Players holding the “Oberstaufen Plus Golf“ guest card pay no green fee on all courses. This new informal golf club values a sportive and casual approach. The Golf Acadamy,

    Wiggensbach belongs to one of the most advanced training centres in Germany, and is used

Golfpark Schlossgut Lenzfried: This 9 hole golf course (par 68) was opened in 2008. The

    location is ideal, amongst the alps but a stones throw away from Kempten, which is the main

    city in Allgäu, and is definitly worth a visit.

    A handicap of 54 is required and advanced bookings of tee times essential.

    The golf course is situated around the grounds of the ancient stately home. The surrounding

    parkland and small embellishments will gradually be finished by spring 2009.

    A whole day golfing costs 20,- ?. Players holding the “Oberstaufen Plus Golf“ guest card are

    free of charge.

Golfclub Oberstaufen-Steibis: This 18 hole golf course (par 70) was approved by the Federal

    Association for golfing facilities, and was appointed the category of a ****Superior. Due to its

    position, at the foot of the Hochgrat mountain range, it has become renowned as one of the

    most breath taking golfing loactions within Allgäu.

    A handicap of 45 is required and advanced bookings of tee times essential.

    The greenfee is 62,- ? for adults and 46,- ? for adolescents and students. Guests staying in the Golf-Partnerhotels, receive a 30 percent reduction on green fees.

Golfpark Bregenzerwald: The Bregenzerwald is a beautiful woodland area neighbouring the

    18- hole Golfpark, in the village of Sulzberg-Riefensberg. It is on the Austrian side of the border,

    in close proximity to the district of Oberstaufen. A well known architect, Kurt Rossknecht,

    designed this expansive course within a natural setting. Integrated small streams, leading to the

    Weissach river, and subtle elevations which are set amongst clusters of old trees, make each

    hole a new challange and a pleasure to play.
