Jim Daly, the manager of Margie’s Travel, has determined there is a need for a new software developer in their Seattle office. He decides to make a formal requisition for the position by utilizing his company’s SharePoint
site for Job Requisition and Interview Management. Using the requisition request tool, Jim enters information such as Position, Department, Location, Hiring Manager and Priority. After clicking OK, the requisition goes into the queue to be approved.
Once the requisition is approved, Jeff Low, the
company’s recruiter, is notified via an RSS feed
within Microsoft Office Outlook? 2007 that
there is a newly approved job requisition
posted on the Job Requisition and Interview
Management website. He logs in and takes
ownership of the requisition. The next day, Jeff

receives a resume for a candidate that would be perfect for the job. After creating a candidate profile, Jeff
assigns the open requisition to the candidate and emails the resume to the hiring manager. Using the Job
Requisition and Interview Management site’s calendar functionality, Jeff schedules an interview between the
candidate and Jim’s manager, Kim Abercrombie.
The candidate does well in his interviews and Kim would like to enter in feedback. Using the SharePoint site,
she creates a new feedback item, selects Dan Park, states a ‘Hire’ recommendation and enters in details about
why she believes Dan is a good hire for the company. This information, along with other feedback on Dan Park,
is retained, enabling the recruiter to make Dan an offer quickly while simplifying the process of managing
requisitions, interviews and feedback loops.
