This is John Roberts reporting from Cardiff. The result of the match which finished at four this afternoon between France and Wales was a draw. Neither side scored. The Dutch referee(裁判)
did not allow the one goal which France managed to kick. The reason for this was that a French player was unfortunately off side. So both teams went home disappointed. This means that neither the French nor the Welsh team will reach first place in this international competition. However, I can say that the people who watched were delighted with the game. They particularly admired the French forwards, who were always fast and often threatened the Welsh defense. Once it looked as if the Welsh goalkeeper was in serious trouble. He dived to his right to save a shot from the French centre forward and crashed his head against the goal post. A doctor examined him and he soon began to play again. Of course the large, friendly crowd cheered for him. Wales will certainly welcome another visit from this splendid team.

When a tornado(旋风) destroys a house, it doesn't blow it down the way a hurricane does. It
makes the house explode(爆炸).Why does the house explode?
The air that surrounds a house presses against it all the time. It usually has a force about 15
pounds per square inch. The air inside the house presses out against the wall just as hard.
When a tornado passes over a house, it suddenly takes away the air outside the house. The air inside the house still pushes out against the walls, but now there is nothing pushing back, so the walls are pushed out in an explosion.
Pieces of the house are up into the tornado and carried away. There is little left where the house once stood.

In order to know a foreign language well, four things are necessary. Firstly, we must be able to understand the language when we hear it spoken. Secondly, we must be able to speak it ourselves correctly. Thirdly, we must be able to read the language and fourthly, we must be able to write. We must be able to make sentences that are grammatically correct. We must know how to use sentences in paragraphs, so as to write a good letter or composition.
