Is the culture of China opposite to the culture of USA or not?
Some people believe that the culture of China and the culture of the USA possess a close affinity to each other according to some similar phenomena in these two countries. But, actually, there isn’t culture that
can be in two countries at the same time. In other words, every country has its own special culture for different country has different history. As a college student, I prefer to agree with the point that the culture of China and the culture of the USA are apparently opposite in every way, especially in money view and education outlook.
We can see the difference between the Chinese culture and the American culture obviously in the aspect of money view. Most Chinese earn money and put their money be saved because they think that life is full of ups and downs, so they should have a certain amount of money in hand for rainy days. Besides, saving money seems to render them the greatest enjoyment. What’s more, Chinese people’s money is often used
to purchase houses. In China, the symbol of wealth is the quantities of house. Unlike Chinese, Americans hold the view that earning money is for the purpose to spend money. Most of their money are used to make them to live a happier and comfortable life instead of be put in the bank. The rich in America usually spend their money in buy luxuries.
Moreover, Chinese education outlook is quite different from American education outlook. In China, the most important task of
children is to get a good score and a good position in a ranking of names at school. Parents judge a child by his score not his ability. Furthermore, the final goal of school education is to put student through the entrance examination and enter a good university. However, parents don’t force
their children to work hard just in order to get into a famous university in American. They pay more attention to what their child really like and want. American education outlook thinks that going to school is to learn vocational skills instead of theories, and high score doesn’t mean
Just seeing from the two points mentioned above, we can learn that Chinese culture and American culture is quite different.
