Renewable Energies in East Africa Conference – September 6-7, 2007
The five member states of the East African Community (EAC) - Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi - are characterised by high energy prices, insufficient and thus unreliable supply of electricity and low rates of electrification.
At the same time the region has a high potential for Renewable Energy, which are still largely unexploited,
In this regards, The East African Business Council and Afrika Verein based in Germany are organizing a
conference in Frankfurt, Germany on September 6-7, 2007 to discuss transfer of modern technologies and investments from Germany into the energy sector to enhance a win-win scenario for both East African businesses and for high-tech companies in Germany / Europe. The planned conference is a high profile
platform for company executives, technology experts and decision makers from governments.
