    Acting Technique/Audition Teacher

    th 7PM

The show features two sets of theatrical action and is simply the best collection of acting

talent, performing three minute character based monologues in front of packed houses

and a panel of industry celebrities and professionals (the judges). It's not poetry, not

spoken word, not performance art, not improv, not storytelling it's great acting for great

    acting audiences.

Performers looking for that fabled big break are squaring off against one another in a

flurry of three-minute monologues, with industry professionals sitting in as judges.

    The New York Times

Set One

The Manhattan Monologue Slam Championship Set, is hosted by Robert Galinsky & features 8 pre-booked actors performing one three-minute monologue. What's at stake? The tag of "The Manhattan Monologue Slam Champion", prize money, a sit down with any one of that evening’s judges for a career consultation, and the challenge of defending the title & trophy in next month’s show.

Set Two

30 Second Audience Slam is hosted by Phillip Galinsky. It’s an outrageous set of audience/actors who sign up to perform on the night of the show. Each actor's performance doubles as entertainment & as an 'audition' to perform in the championship set in the next show, in addition to winning cash and prizes too.

This class is unique because it not only deals with the practical preparations for

showcasing the actor’s abilities in an audition situation, but with the mental preparation

as well. The actor is taught how to keep their power and focus on the work instead of

the outcome. Offering day and evening classes, the course runs 4 weeks with one

session per week. Each class lasts approximately 3 hours. There are no more than 6

students per class, allowing at least ? hour of practical work and 2 1/2 hours of

observation. Each class member is given 8 new songs, specifically tailored to their

needs, as accessed by Mr. Sabellico. During the course, the students are taught a

specific technique, developed by Mr. Sabellico, which enables the actor to walk into any

audition situation, with strength and clarity and within a few minutes, demonstrate the

breadth and depth of their abilities. A highly successful Broadway actor as well as an

accomplished director, Richard has been privy to both sides of the audition table. This

is the caveat, he believes, which makes his class unique and successful for student and

    teacher alike.
