    PRESS RELEASE

For General Release January 2009

Usk Properties Ltd from Newport has recently completed a ?1.75million development at Baglan Energy Park, selling the buildings to Countrywide Grounds Maintenance Ltd of Neath.

Usk Properties Ltd acquired the 1? acre site from Neath Port Talbot Council at the Energy Park in the summer of 2008 and completed the new offices and workshop in December 2008. This is the second project completed by Usk Properties Ltd at the Energy Park and Sean Mayo, a Director of the company, complimented the Council for its helpful and proactive approach to assisting new development in the Borough.

Sean Mayo said that he was delighted to be involved with the provision of new premises for Countrywide, a very successful and rapidly expanding local company. In fact, by employing local construction company Ralph and Doherty Building Contractors from Skewen Neath, Sean commented on the success of the project and the tremendous prospects for both of these local companies.

The development of the site with a new Head Office and separate Workshop recently won the prestigious Design and Build award from Neath Port Talbot Council in the ?2 million new build category.

The new facilities have enabled Countrywide to move from its cramped premises in New Road Skewen and will provide a platform for further growth. Even in these times of economic uncertainty, there continues to be successful well run and managed organisations which are capable of expanding.

Richard Ball and Ian Michael of Countrywide commented that both they and all their staff are hugely delighted with the new facilities. They are looking very positively to the future and the expansion of their business. Countrywide South Wales started some ten years ago with just the two

owners employed. Since then it has grown rapidly and now employs 46 people.

This company is a great advert for local talent providing local services by local people and now expanding into the wider South Wales market.

Derek Vaughan, Leader of Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council said: Baglan Energy Park has been one of the most successful regeneration projects in the County Borough and has attracted a number of national and international companies. We are also committed to providing opportunities for local businesses to develop and grow and I am delighted to welcome local company Countrywide to the Park to grow their business in Neath Port Talbot.

“The Energy Park has brought jobs and economic benefits to the County

Borough and there are still opportunities for companies and developers to become part of the Energy Park success story.”
