Associated Mining Construction is specializing on shaft sinking projects in the potash mining

    industry using proprietary frozen ground shaft sinking method. The projects are in the range

    of $200M to $800M. Some clients are: BHP, PCS, Agrium, API and Mosaic. Participated in

    the setup and execution of the following projects:

PCS Scissors Creek Service Shaft (from start of execution stage) this is a $200M potash

    shaft sinking project. Developed project execution plan, participated in the development of

    project scope statement, budget, schedule. Liaised with client on deliverables. Scheduled

    and facilitated peer reviews and PHA sessions using PHA Pro V8.0. Defined engineering

    scope, schedule and monitor progress against schedule and budget. Supervised an

    engineering staff of 8 and several large consulting engineering firms involved in the detailed

    design of the project deliverables. Acted as project manager on project site if circumstances

    so dictated. Enforced safety procedures and ensure that corporate safety goals are met.

    Reviewed and approved engineering design for the sinking arrangement (Galloway, winches,

    sinking hoist, shaft services, dump arrangement, freeze plant, etc.) and permanent

    infrastructure. Liaised with construction companies during construction on technical matters.

Agrium Vanscoy shaft rehabilitation (from feasibility design stage). Developed Project

    Execution Plan, scope statement and budget.

PCS Cory shaft rehabilitation project. The scope of this project was to replace the bottom 21

    steel sets of the shaft station steel on the production shaft, remove and replace loading

    pocket and measuring bins. Visited the construction site weekly

Agrium Triton project (from feasibility design stage): develop Project Execution Plan, review

    feasibility level schedule and budget. Review, approve feasibility level studies on various

    aspects of the project.

? Falconbridge Ltd Kidd Creed D Mine Project (Project Superintendent Feb 2004-Dec 2005).

    In charge of the design, project management and commissioning of all electrical,

    communication and control systems for all aspects of this $720M project. Systems

    included power distribution, fibre and Ethernet network, phone system, PLC and HMI

    systems, central blasting, micro seismic system, leaky feeder and video system.

    Supervised several engineering firms engaged in the design, the project staff and a

    construction crew of up to 30 men. Responsible for establishing and controlling budgets,

    schedule and safety aspects. Perform safety audit, spot checks and site visits.

    ? Inco Ltd (Senior Project Manager Jan 2006-May 2006). Supervised a group of engineers

    and designers performing the feasibility design of all electrical, communication and

    control systems for Totten Mine, Copper Cliff Deep and Kelly Lake mine expansion.

    Define work, package structure, budget and schedule. Developed work packages,

    estimates and supervised designers developing drawings for the study.

    ? Xstrata Nickel- Nickel Rim South Mine (Area Lead: Electrical design group June 2006-

    June 2009). Ongoing supervision of a group of twelve engineers, designers and PLC

    schedule and budget, controlling resources, mentoring junior and intermediate staff, and

    relevant authorities for construction, and design of equipment layout and protection

    schemes (2x 3 terminal current differential 6x 2 terminal current differential primary

    with backup over current protection).
