    REQUIREMENTS

? A Grade 12 or equivalent or FET Cosmetology Certificate is the minimum

    qualification required of the prospective student wishing to study for a

    Health and Skincare Therapy Diploma.

    ? Recognition of prior learning through entrance assessment.

    DURATION OF COURSE AND THE TIME ALLOCATION

? The syllabus has been planned to accommodate a 40-week year, comprising

    two years. This submitted document is not the syllabus, but an outline of

    main headings referring to subject matter delivered for the Health and

    Skincare Therapy Diploma.

    ? The time allocation has been planned for contact tuition and to allow the

    student time for self study, project preparation, etc. plus sufficient free time

    to allow learners to realistically accumulate the hours of practice

    (experiential hours) prescribed for a Health and Skincare qualification,

    which is outside (in addition) of this syllabus outline.

    ISSUE OF DIPLOMA

    ? The student must have logged and recorded 400 experiential hours as

    prescribed

    ? The student must be in possession of credits for:

    ? Manicure and pedicure

    ? Make-up

    ? Waxing/ Hair removal

    ? Eyelash and eyebrow tinting and shaping

    ? These credits may be obtained prior to entering this training

    or as parallel learning

    ? The student has to pass all components as listed:

    NB: These hours include time for revision, tests and formal examinations. The diploma is only issued after proof of

    completion of the following experiential hours:

     Experiential Training = 400 hours over 2 years

     School Clinic - Maximum 50 hours formal and supervised

     Industry - 200 hours monitored and supervised

     Gym, Sales, etc. - Maximum 50 hours
