Unit Purpose

Completion of this unit will enable you to research and present a range of feasible scenarios

    to the client.

Reporting of assessment outcomes

The assessment for this unit/ module is recorded as a Class Mark.

All assessment events used to determine your result will be locally set and

    locally marked.

Your results will be reported as DISTINCTION, CREDIT, PASS or FAIL.

To receive a particular grade you must get at least the mark shown below:

     Grade Class mark

     DISTINCTION 83%

     CREDIT 70%

     PASS 50%

All other cases FAIL.

     (Grade Code 72)

Requirements to successfully complete this unit of competency

To successfully complete this unit you will be required demonstrate that you have the ability

    to understand the client’s problem and create a report that analyses possible solutions and makes a recommendations.

To achieve a pass in this unit of competency you will need to:

? Demonstrate an ability to gather client requirements in a business context

    ? Ability to present solutions to clients based on evidence gathered.

This means that you need to be able to

    1. Analyse client requirements to determine project scope, and the problem context or

    opportunity faced by the business

    2. Document client requirements, project scope, related problems and sources of

    information

    3. Confirm requirements and scope with the client

    4. Compare future client requirements with current requirements

    5. Develop and document feasible solutions for client requirements 6. Explore and document the feasibility of each solution 7. Examine alternatives against project constraints

8. Develop a feasibility report that describes client requirements, project scope, analysis of

    alternative scenarios, and recommendations.

    9. Submit feasibility report to appropriate person for project approval

A written exam will test your knowledge of requirements and feasibility reporting.

What you will need

? Pencils, pens and notebook.

    ? Back up media (e.g. writable CDs and/or thumb drives).

    Your teacher will advise you on any additional materials and resources that you may need to

    purchase for this unit.
