    Profile

As an IT professional of 16 years I have excellent experience of implementation and delivery for major IT enabled

transformation programmes. These complex IT programmes have employed a broad range of technologies from

vendors such as Microsoft, Symantec, EMC, Bluecoat and Cosmocom.

I am commercially aware and have worked through the entire engineering lifecycle with the initial bid phase

through architecture, design, delivery, service transition and service management.

Having more recently acted as a solution engineering lead I have implemented an enterprise transformation into

virtualisation. My interest however is the enhancement of architecture capability as a consequence of delivering

business and technology change rather than as a precursor to it.

My well developed inter-personal skills, flexible open mind and collaborative style enable me to understand and

capture client’s needs. Whilst able to assert myself I employ negotiation skills to deal with conflicts.

I enjoy working in a team and am an inspirational leader, team player and mentor who has lead multiple projects

simultaneously. I have developed and maintain a reputation for the highest levels of integrity, delivering on my

    commitments, energy and stamina.

    Work History

Network Administrator, NHS Primary Care Trust July 2009 - Present

    Government Healthcare Provider.

Responsible for supporting the entire estate communications and managing network related projects for the Trust. The sites all operate over the BT N3 provision for healthcare, this role has proved broad and required knowledge across a range of technologies to achieve results. While managing the Estate’s requests I attend planning meetings,

generate requirements documents and scope out solutions for the Trust, identify the current network design and rdrecommend improvements. Evaluation of 3 party products and service provider contracts. Contribution to

numerous plans and papers including the DR plan, VoIP Solution and DFS Deployment.

    Key points:

? WAN/LAN/WLAN performance analysis and general support

? SAN Extension into DR facility and subsequent move of VMware and HP EVA for resiliency ? Setup a pilot for 2FA SSO using IAG to enable secure VPN access for remote workers ? Coordinate and oversee all deployments

? SolarWinds Orion integration for monitoring and reporting

? Design and implementation of Cisco Monitoring, Analysis and Response System (MARS)

Lead Senior Implementer, Capgemini Apr 2008 - Apr 2009

    BPO Consultancy.

Working to design documents to build resilient systems using two UK data centres for a US client. One Load Test, 3 UAT and a Production environment were built using a combination of HP C-class Blades, VMware ESX and Windows 2003. Forest level domain trusts with Selective Authentication and following Microsoft Best Practice methods throughout, including SQL 2005 Clustering and forest-wide Server Hardening by functional type which were crucial stages of the design. The role demanded a high level of knowledge and experience in a broad range of technologies to deliver the design, which has proved essential in root cause analysis, team leadership, change rdcontrol and design review. Consistent communication between security, design, 3 parties and development teams

provided the necessary visibility and knowledge sharing pivotal to resolving issues. I also created technical documentation detailing the solution from a support and resolution perspective along with handover documentation for the infrastructure support teams, this was backed up with an agreement that I acted as a point of escalation to the teams for 3 months after go-live.

    Key points:

? 95% virtual environments hosted using VMware ESX

? EMC Symmetrix and Clarion SAN storage

? Clustered (MSCS) SQL Server 2005

    ? Remote deployment

I was brought into 2 other project streams to offer high level design and implementation. Server refresh work involved design and hands-on deployment for DFS spanning 28 sites around the world complete with SCCM and SCOM implementations. The Standard Operational Environment (SOE) work involved data migration, replication scripting, encryption work, Firewall rules, routing, switching, task sequencing and deployment, bandwidth throttling and centralised backup configurations.

    Key points:

? System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)

? System Center Operations Manager (SCOM)

    ? Distributed File System (DFS)

? Bluecoat/Packeteer iShared Wide Area File Services and WAN optimisation software

Voice Platform Implementer, BT Plc Aug 2007 - Mar 2008

    Worldwide communications company.

Expansion of a London based VoIP service by meshing into new nodes in Hong Kong, Paris and New York with a DR site in the Docklands. The CosmoCom voice platform was built on top of Windows 2003 Enterprise and integrated with value added BT CRM software called MCC and NGC. I was responsible for putting together the New York front-end node of 4x 16 bay blade enclosures, internet and MPLS links into the UK and USA which was the principal enabler to access the shared VoIP platform. Built and configured using Windows 2003 Enterprise, CosmoCom, MSCS, DNS, DHCP, WLBS, NLB, IIS, WSUS, HP SIM, HP RDP and SCOM. The usual traffic routing and firewall blocking issues were identified and resolved by liaising with other teams. The work resulted in the New York node being equipped to support 3000 consecutive voice conversations. During this work I was resourced into BT N3 where migration work into clustered environments and Active Directory extension work was needed. The work was pivotal to the resilience of the N3 product catalog. Key points:

? SQL Server 2000 / 2005 Administration and migration to clustered environments ? Build, deploy and configure server images remotely using HP RDP

? Scripting to automate builds stages and provide reporting on platform-wide server configuration inconsistencies

? HP Rapid Deployment Pack (RDP) / Altiris Deployment Server to deploy servers ? HP P-class and C-class Blade servers

    ? Cisco 5300 Media Gateways
