I am going to talk about the topic 2 that is about Utilitarianism and individual rights. I agree with the criticism that Utilitarianism fails to safeguard individual rights in some cases. But this problem does not undermine the theory altogether. On the contrary, such failures are the sacrifice for the Utilitarianism in the long run. In other words, Utilitarianism always protects individual rights in the long run, although sometimes the individual rights have to be sacrificed for Utilitarianism in the short run.
